| 1 | 其時天國は、十人の處女面々燈を執りて新郎と新婦とを迎へに出たる如くならん。 | Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. |
| 2 | 其中五人は愚にして五人は賢し、 | And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. |
| 3 | 愚なる五人は燈を執りて油を携へざるに、 | They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: |
| 4 | 賢きは燈と共に油を器に携へたり。 | But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. |
| 5 | 新郎遅かりければ、皆假寝して眠りたりしが、 | While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. |
| 6 | 夜中に「すわ新郎來たるぞ、出迎へよ」との聲ありしかば、 | And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. |
| 7 | 處女皆起きて其燈を整へたり。 | Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. |
| 8 | 愚なるが賢きに云ひけるは、汝等の油を我等に分て、我等の燈滅ゆ、と。 | And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. |
| 9 | 賢きが答へて云ひけるは、恐らくは我等と汝等とに足らじ、寧売者に往きて自の為に買へ、と。 | But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. |
| 10 | 彼等が買はんとて往ける間に、新郎來りしかば、用意してありし者等は、彼と共に婚筵に入り、然て門は鎖されたり。 | And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. |
| 11 | 軈て他の處女等も來りて、主よ主よ、我等に開き給へ、と云ひ居れども、 | Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. |
| 12 | 彼答へて、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、我は汝等を知らず、と云へり。 | But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. |
| 13 | 然れば警戒せよ、汝等は其日其時を知らざればなり | Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. |
| 14 | [天國は]即或人遠く旅立たんとして、其僕等を召び、是に我所有を渡せるが如し。 | For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. |
| 15 | 一人には五タレント、一人に二タレント、一人には一タレントを、各其器量に應じて渡し、然て直に出立せしが、 | And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. |
| 16 | 五タレントを受けし者は、往きて之を以て取引して、外に五タレントを贏け、 | Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. |
| 17 | 二タレントを受けし者も同じ様にして、外に二タレントを贏けしに、 | And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. |
| 18 | 一タレントを受けし者は、往きて地を掘り主人の金を蔵し置けり。 | But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. |
| 19 | 久しうして後、此僕等の主人來りて彼等と計算せしが、 | After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. |
| 20 | 五タレントを受けし者近づきて、別に五タレントを差出して云ひけるは、主君よ、我に五タレントを渡し給ひしが、看よ別に又五タレントを贏けたり、と。 | And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. |
| 21 | 主人云ひけるは、宜し、善にして忠なる僕よ、汝些少なる物に忠なりしにより、我汝に多くの物を宰らしめん、汝の主人の喜に入れよ、と。 | His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. |
| 22 | 二タレントを受けし者も亦近づきて云ひけるは、主君よ、我に二タレントを渡し給ひしが、看よ別に又二タレントを贏けたり、と。 | He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. |
| 23 | 主人云ひけるは、宜し善にして忠なる僕よ、汝些少なる物に忠なりしにより、我汝に多くの物を宰らしめん、汝の主人の喜に入れよ、と。 | His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. |
| 24 | 一タレントを受けし者も亦近づきて云ひけるは、主君よ、我汝の厳しき人にして、播かざる處より穫り、散らさざる處より聚むるを知り、 | Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: |
| 25 | 懼れて、往きて汝のタレントを地に蔵し置けり、看よ汝己が物を有す、と。 | And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. |
| 26 | 主人答へて云ひけるは、惡くして懶惰なる僕よ、汝我播かざる處より穫り、散らさざる處より聚むるを知りたれば、 | His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: |
| 27 | 我金を兩替屋に預くべかりき、然らば我來りて、我有を利子と共に受けしならん。 | Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. |
| 28 | 然れば汝等。此者より其タレントを取りて、十タレントを有てる者に與へよ、 | Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. |
| 29 | 蓋総て有てる人は與へられて裕ならん、然れど有たぬ人は、其有てりと思はるる所までも奪はれん、 | For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. |
| 30 | 無益なる僕を外の暗に投出せ、其處には痛哭と切歯と在らん、と。 | And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
| 31 | 人の子己が威光を以て諸の[天]使を從へて來らん時、其威光の座に坐せん。 | When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: |
| 32 | 斯て萬民を其前に集め、彼等を別つこと、恰牧者が羊と牡山羊とを別つが如く、 | And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: |
| 33 | 羊を右に、牡山羊を左に置かん。 | And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. |
| 34 | 時に王は其右に居る者に云はん、來れ、我父に祝せられたる者よ、世界開闢より汝等の為に備へられたる國を得よ。 | Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: |
| 35 | 其は我が飢ゑしに汝等は食せしめ、我が渇きしに汝等飲ましめ、我が旅人なりしに汝等宿らせ、 | For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: |
| 36 | 裸なりしに着せ、病みたりしに訪ひ、監獄に在りしに來りたればなり、と。 | Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. |
| 37 | 此時義人等彼に答へて云はん、主よ、我等何時飢ゑ給ふを見て主に食せしめ、渇き給ふを[見て]主に飲ましめ、 | Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? |
| 38 | 何時旅人に在せるを見て主を宿らせ、又裸に在るを[見て]主に着せしぞ、と。 | When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? |
| 39 | 又何時病み給ひ或は監獄に居給ふを見て主に至りしぞ、と。 | Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? |
| 40 | 王答へて彼等に云はん、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、汝等が我此最小き兄弟の一人に為したる所は、事毎に即我に為ししなり、と。 | And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. |
| 41 | 斯て左に居る者にも亦云はん、詛はれたる者よ、我を離れて、惡魔と其使等との為に備へられたる永遠の火に[入れ]。 | Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: |
| 42 | 其は我が飢ゑしに汝等は食せしめず、我が渇きしに汝等飲ましめず、 | For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: |
| 43 | 我が旅人なりしに汝等宿らせず、裸なりしに汝等着せず、病み又監獄に在りしに汝等訪はざりし故なり、と。 | I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. |
| 44 | 此時彼等も王に答へて云はん、主よ、我等何時主の飢ゑ、或は渇き、或は旅人たり、或は裸なり、或は病み、或は監獄に居給ふを見て主に事へざりしぞ、と。 | Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? |
| 45 | 此時王彼等に答へて云はん、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、汝等が此最小き者の一人に為さざりし所は、事毎に即我に為さざりしなり、と。 | Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. |
| 46 | 斯て是等の人は永遠の刑罰に入り、義人は永遠の生命に入るべし、と。 | And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. |
