| 1 | 然れば兄弟等よ、我神の諸の恤に由りて汝等に勧む。汝等其肉身を以て、活ける、聖なる、神の御意に適へる犠牲、己が道理的禮拝として供へよ。 | I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. |
| 2 | 又此世に倣ひ從ふ事なく、却て神の御旨、即ち善と御意に適ふ事と完全との如何なるものなるかを暁らん為、精神を一新して自ら改革せよ。 | And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. |
| 3 | 蓋我賜はりたる恩寵によりて、汝等の中に在る凡ての人に謂はん、己を重んずべき程度以上に重んぜず、適宜に、而も神の夫々分配し給ひし信仰の量に從ひて重んぜよ。 | For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
| 4 | 蓋我等は一の體に多くの肢ありて、凡ての肢其用を同うせざるが如く、 | For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: |
| 5 | 我等多くの人は、キリストに於て一の體にして、各互に肢たるなり。 | So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. |
| 6 | 然れば我等に賜はりたる恩寵に從ひて賜を異にしたれば、預言は信仰の理に随ひて為し、 | Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; |
| 7 | 聖役は聖役に[從事し]、教ふる人は教に[止り]、 | Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; |
| 8 | 勧を為す人は勧を為し、與ふる人は淡白を以てし、司る人は奮發を以てし、慈悲を施す人は歓を以てすべし。 | Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. |
| 9 | 愛は表裏あるべからず、汝等惡を嫌ひて善に就き、 | Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. |
| 10 | 兄弟の愛を以て相寵み、互に相推重し、 | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; |
| 11 | 注意を怠らず、熱心にして主に事へ、 | Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; |
| 12 | 希望によりて歓び、患難に忍耐し、絶えず祈祷に從事し、 | Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; |
| 13 | 聖徒の入用を補け、接待を行ひ、 | Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. |
| 14 | 汝等を迫害する人を祝せよ、祝して詛ふこと勿れ。 | Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. |
| 15 | 喜ぶ人々と共に喜び、泣く人々と共に泣き、 | Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. |
| 16 | 心を相同じうし、高きを思はずして低きに甘んじ、自ら智しとすること勿れ。 | Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. |
| 17 | 如何なる人にも惡を以て惡に報ゆる事なく、啻に神の御前のみならず、衆人の前にも善なる事を圖り、 | Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. |
| 18 | 汝等が力の及ぶ限り、為し得べくんば衆人と相和せよ。 | If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. |
| 19 | 至愛なる者よ、自ら復讐せずして[神の]怒に任せよ、其は録して、「主曰く、復讐は我事なり、我は報いん」とあればなり。 | Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. |
| 20 | 却て汝の仇飢ゑなば之に食せしめ、渇かば之に飲ましめよ。斯くすれば汝彼の頭に燃炭を積むならん、 | Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. |
| 21 | 惡に勝たるる事なく、善を以て惡に勝て。 | Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. |
