1 神よ、わたしの祈に耳を傾けてください。わたしの願いを避けて身を隠さないでください。 Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.
2 わたしにみこころをとめ、わたしに答えてください。わたしは悩みによって弱りはて、 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
3 敵の声と、悪しき者のしえたげとによって気が狂いそうです。彼らはわたしに悩みを臨ませ、怒ってわたしを苦しめるからです。 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.
4 わたしの心はわがうちにもだえ苦しみ、死の恐れがわたしの上に落ちました。 My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
5 恐れとおののきがわたしに臨み、はなはだしい恐れがわたしをおおいました。 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.
6 わたしは言います、「どうか、はとのように翼をもちたいものだ。そうすればわたしは飛び去って安きを得るであろう。 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.
7 わたしは遠くのがれ去って、野に宿ろう。[セラ Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.
8 わたしは急ぎ避難して、はやてとあらしをのがれよう」と。 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.
9 主よ、彼らのはかりごとを打ち破ってください。彼らの舌を混乱させてください。わたしは町のうちに暴力と争いとを見るからです。 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10 彼らは昼も夜も町の城壁の上を歩きめぐり、町のうちには害悪と悩みとがあります。 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.
11 また滅ぼす事が町のうちにあり、しえたげと欺きとはその市場を離れることがありません。 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.
12 わたしをののしる者は敵ではありません。もしそうであるならば忍ぶことができます。わたしにむかって高ぶる者はあだではありません。もしそうであるならば身を隠して彼を避けることができます。 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
13 しかしそれはあなたです、わたしと同じ者、わたしの同僚、わたしの親しい友です。 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.
14 われらはたがいに楽しく語らい、つれだって神の宮に上りました。 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.
15 どうぞ、死を彼らに臨ませ、生きたままで陰府に下らせ、恐れをもって彼らを墓に去らせてください。 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
16 しかしわたしが神に呼ばわれば、主はわたしを救われます。 As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.
17 夕べに、あしたに、真昼にわたしが嘆きうめけば、主はわたしの声を聞かれます。 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
18 たといわたしを攻める者が多くとも、主はわたしがたたかう戦いからわたしを安らかに救い出されます。 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
19 昔からみくらに座しておられる神は聞いて彼らを悩まされるでしょう。[セラ彼らはおきてを守らず、神を恐れないからです。 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.
20 わたしの友はその親しき者に手を伸ばして、その契約を破った。 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.
21 その口は牛酪よりもなめらかだが、その心には戦いがある。その言葉は油よりもやわらかだが、それは抜いたつるぎである。 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
22 あなたの荷を主にゆだねよ。主はあなたをささえられる。主は正しい人の動かされるのを決してゆるされない。 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 しかし主よ、あなたは彼らを滅びの穴に投げ入れられます。血を流す者と欺く者とはおのが日の半ばも生きながらえることはできません。しかしわたしはあなたに寄り頼みます。 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
