| 1 | イエスは神殿から出て行き，進んで行こうとした。弟子たちが彼に神殿の建物を示そうとして近寄って来た。 | And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. |
| 2 | しかし，イエスは彼らに言った，「あなた方はこれらすべてのものを見ていないのか。ここで石が崩されずにほかの石の上に残ることはないだろう」 。 | And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. |
| 3 | 彼がオリーブ山の上で座っていた時，弟子たちがひそかに彼のもとに来て，こう言った。「わたしたちに教えてください。それらのことはいつ起きるのですか。あなたの来臨と時代の終わりのしるしは何ですか」。 | And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? |
| 4 | イエスは彼らに答えた，「だれもあなた方を惑わすことがないように注意しなさい。 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. |
| 5 | 多くの者がわたしの名においてやって来て，『わたしがキリストだ』と言って，多くの者を惑わすだろう。 | For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. |
| 6 | あなた方は戦争のことや戦争のうわさを聞くだろう。動転しないように気を付けなさい。これらのすべてのことは起こらなければならないが，終わりはまだなのだ。 | And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
| 7 | 民族は民族に，王国は王国に敵対して立ち上がるからだ。あちこちでききんと伝染病と地震がある。 | For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. |
| 8 | だが，これらのすべてのことは産みの苦しみの始まりだ。 | All these are the beginning of sorrows. |
| 9 | その時，人々はあなた方を苦しみに引き渡し，あなた方を殺すだろう。あなた方はわたしの名のためにすべての民族から憎まれるだろう。 | Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. |
| 10 | その時，多くの者がつまずき，互いに引き渡し合い，互いに憎み合うだろう。 | And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. |
| 11 | 多くの偽預言者たちが現われて，多くの者を惑わすだろう。 | And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. |
| 12 | 不法が増してゆくので，多くの者の愛が冷えてゆくだろう。 | And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. |
| 13 | だが，最後まで耐え忍ぶ者，その者が救われるだろう。 | But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. |
| 14 | 王国のこの福音は，あらゆる民族に対する証言のために，全世界で宣教されるだろう。そしてそれから終わりが来る。 | And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. |
| 15 | 「それで，預言者ダニエルを通して語られた，荒廃させる嫌悪すべきものが，聖なる所に立っているのを見るなら（読者は理解せよ）， | When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) |
| 16 | その時，ユダヤにいる者たちは山に逃げなさい。 | Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: |
| 17 | 屋上にいる者は自分の家から物を取り出そうとして降りてはいけない。 | Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: |
| 18 | 畑にいる者は外衣を取りに戻ってはいけない。 | Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. |
| 19 | だが，それらの日，妊娠している者たちと乳を飲ませている母親たちにとっては災いだ！ | And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! |
| 20 | あなた方の逃走が冬や安息日に起こらないように祈っていなさい。 | But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: |
| 21 | その時，世のはじめから今に至るまで起きたことがなく，また二度と起きないような苦しみがあるからだ。 | For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. |
| 22 | それらの日が短くされなかったなら，肉なる者はだれも救われないだろう。だが，選ばれた者たちのために，その日々は短くされるのだ。 | And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. |
| 23 | 「その時，だれかがあなた方に，『見よ，ここにキリストがいる！』とか，『あそこだ』などと告げても，それを信じてはいけない。 | Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. |
| 24 | 偽キリストたちや偽預言者たちが現われて，できるなら選ばれた者たちをさえ惑わそうとして，しるしと不思議な業を行なうからだ。 | For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. |
| 25 | 「見よ，わたしはあなた方にあらかじめ告げている。 | Behold, I have told you before. |
| 26 | だから，人々があなた方に，『見よ，彼は荒野にいる』と言っても，出て行ってはいけない。『見よ，奥の部屋にいる』と言っても，それを信じてはいけない。 | Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. |
| 27 | いなずまが東から出て，西にまで輝きわたるように，人の子の来臨もそのようだからだ。 | For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 28 | どこでも死体のあるところ，そこにハゲワシたちも集まって来るのだ。 | For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. |
| 29 | だが，それらの日の苦しみのすぐ後に，太陽は暗くなり，月は光を放たなくなり，星々は天から落ち，天にあるもろもろの力は揺り動かされるだろう。 | Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: |
| 30 | そしてその時，人の子のしるしが天に現われるだろう。その時，地のすべての部族は悲しみ，人の子が力と大いなる栄光をもって天の雲に乗って来るのを見るだろう。 | And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |
| 31 | 彼は大きならっぱの音と共に自分の使いたちを遣わし，彼らは四方の風から，天の一方の果てから他方の果てまで，自分の選ばれた者たちを集め寄せるだろう。 | And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. |
| 32 | 「さあ，イチジクの木からこのたとえを学びなさい。その枝が柔らかくなり，葉を出すと，あなた方は夏の近いことを知る。 | Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: |
| 33 | そのようにあなた方も，これらのすべてのことが起こるのを見たなら，彼が戸口にまで近づいていることを知りなさい。 | So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. |
| 34 | 本当にはっきりとあなた方に告げる。これらのすべてのことが実現するまでは，この世代は過ぎ去らない。 | Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. |
| 35 | 天と地は過ぎ去るだろう。それでも，わたしの言葉は過ぎ去らないのだ。 | Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. |
| 36 | だが，その日や時刻についてはだれも知らない。天のみ使いたちも知らず，ただ父だけが知っておられる。 | But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. |
| 37 | 「人の子の来臨はノアの日々と同じようだ。 | But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 38 | というのも，洪水前のそれらの日，ノアが箱船に入るその日まで，人々は食べたり飲んだり，めとったり嫁いだりしていて， | For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, |
| 39 | 洪水が来て彼らすべてをさらって行くまで，気づかなかったのだ。人の子の来臨もそのようになるだろう。 | And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 40 | その時，二人の男が畑にいるだろう。一方は取り去られ，他方は残される。 | Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
| 41 | 二人の女が引き臼をひいているだろう。一方は取り去られ，他方は残される。 | Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
| 42 | だから，見張っていなさい。あなた方は自分たちの主が来るその時を知らないからだ。 | Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. |
| 43 | だが，このことを知っておきなさい。家の主人は，夜のどの見張り時に盗人が来るかを知っているなら，見張っていて，自分の家に押し入られることを許さなかっただろう。 | But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. |
| 44 | だから，あなた方も用意をしておきなさい。あなた方の思いもしない時に人の子は来るからだ。 | Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. |
| 45 | 「それでは，主人が，時節に応じて家の者たちに食物を与えさせるため，彼らの上に任命した，忠実で賢い召使いは，いったいだれか。 | Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? |
| 46 | 主人がやって来た時，そうしているのを見られるその召使いは幸いだ。 | Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. |
| 47 | 本当にはっきりとあなた方に告げるが，主人は彼を自分のすべての持ち物の上に任命するだろう。 | Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. |
| 48 | だが，それが悪い召使いで，心の中で，『わたしの主人は来るのが遅れている』と言い， | But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; |
| 49 | 自分の仲間の召使いたちを打ちたたき始め，酔っぱらいたちと食べたり飲んだりしているなら， | And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; |
| 50 | その召使いの主人は，彼の思いもしない日，彼の知らない時にやって来て， | The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, |
| 51 | 彼をずたずたに切り裂き，その受け分を偽善者たちと共にならせるだろう。そこには嘆きと歯ぎしりとがあるだろう。 | And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
