| 1 | 「天の王国は，自分のブドウ園に働き人を雇うために朝早く出かけた家の主人のようだからだ。 | For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. |
| 2 | 働き人たちと一日一デナリオスで合意すると，彼らを自分のブドウ園に送り出した。 | And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. |
| 3 | 第三時ごろに出て行き，ほかの者たちが市場で仕事をせずに立っているのを見て， | And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, |
| 4 | 彼らに言った，『あなた方もブドウ園に行きなさい。そうすれば，正当なものを払おう』。そこで彼らは出かけて行った。 | And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. |
| 5 | 第六時と第九時ごろにも再び出て行き，同じようにした。 | Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. |
| 6 | 第十一時ごろに出て行くと，ほかの者たちが仕事をせずに立っているのを見つけて，彼らに言った，『なぜあなた方は仕事もしないで一日中ここに立っているのか』。 | And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? |
| 7 | 「彼らは彼に言った，『だれもわたしたちを雇ってくれないからです』。 「彼は彼らに言った，『あなた方もブドウ園に行きなさい。そうすれば，正当なものを受け取るだろう』。 | They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. |
| 8 | 夕方になった時，ブドウ園の主人は自分の管理人に言った，『働き人たちを呼んで，最後の者から始めて最初の者まで順に賃金を払いなさい』。 | So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. |

| 10 | 最初の者たちが来て，もっと多く受け取るものと思ったが，彼らもやはりそれぞれ一デナリオスずつ受け取った。 | But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. |

| 12 | 言った，『これら最後の者たちは一時間働いただけだ。それなのに，あなたは彼らを，一日の重荷と焦げ付くような暑さに耐えたわたしたちと同じにした！』。 | Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. |
| 13 | 「だが，彼はその一人に答えた，『友よ，わたしはあなたに何も不正をしていない。あなたはわたしと一デナリオスで合意したではないか。 | But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? |
| 14 | あなたの分を取って，帰りなさい。この最後の者にもあなたと同じように払ってやりたいのだ。 | Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. |
| 15 | わたしが自分のもので自分のしたいことをするのは許されていないのか。それとも，わたしが善良なので，あなたの目はよこしまになるのか』。 | Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? |
| 16 | このように，最後の者が最初に，最初の者が最後になるだろう。招かれるものは多いが，選ばれる者は少ないのだ」 。 | So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. |
| 17 | エルサレムに上って行く際，イエスは十二弟子をわきに連れて行き，途上で彼らに言った， | And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, |
| 18 | 「見よ，わたしたちはエルサレムに上って行く。そして，人の子は祭司長たちや律法学者たちに引き渡される。彼らは彼を死に定めて | Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, |
| 19 | 異邦人たちに引き渡すだろう。あざけり，むち打ち，はりつけにするためだ。そして三日目に彼は起こされる」 。 | And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again. |
| 20 | その時，ゼベダイの子らの母がその息子たちと一緒に彼のもとにやって来て，ひざまずいて何事かを彼に求めた。 | Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. |
| 21 | 彼は彼女に言った，「何を望むのか」 。 彼女は彼に言った，「これらわたしの二人の息子が，あなたの王国で，一人はあなたの右に，一人はあなたの左に座るようお取り計らいください」。 | And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. |
| 22 | しかしイエスは答えた，「あなた方は自分が何を求めているかを知っていない。あなた方は，わたしの飲もうとしている杯を飲み，わたしの受けているバプテスマを受けることができるか」 。 彼らは彼に言った，「できます」。 | But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. |
| 23 | 彼は彼らに言った，「確かに，あなた方はわたしの杯を飲み，わたしの受けているバプテスマを受けるだろう。だが，わたしの右や左に座ることは，わたしが与えるものではなく，わたしの父によってそれが備えられている人たちのためのものだ」 。 | And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father. |
| 24 | ほかの十人はこれを聞き，二人の兄弟のことで憤慨した。 | And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren. |
| 25 | しかし，イエスは彼らを呼び寄せてこう言った。「あなた方が知っているとおり，異邦人たちの支配者たちは人々に対して威張り散らし，偉い人たちは人々の上に権力を行使している。 | But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. |
| 26 | だが，あなた方の間ではそうであってはならない。むしろ，あなた方の間で偉くなりたいと思う者は，あなた方の召使いでなければいけない。 | But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; |
| 27 | だれでもあなた方の間で第一でありたい者は，あなた方の奴隷でなければいけない。 | And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: |
| 28 | それはちょうど，人の子が，仕えてもらうためではなく，むしろ仕え，自分の命を多くの人の身代金として与えるために来たのと同じだ」 。 | Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. |
| 29 | 彼らがエリコから出て来ると，大群衆が彼に従った。 | And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. |
| 30 | 見よ，道ばたに座っている二人の盲人が，イエスが通り過ぎると聞いて，叫んで言った，「主よ，わたしをあわれんでください，ダビデの子よ！」 | And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. |
| 31 | 群衆は，静かにするように言って彼らをしかりつけたが，彼らはますます叫んで言った，「主よ，わたしをあわれんでください，ダビデの子よ！」 | And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. |
| 32 | イエスは立ち止まって彼らを呼び，「何をして欲しいのか」 と尋ねた。 | And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? |
| 33 | 彼らは彼に言った，「主よ，わたしたちの目が開くことです」。 | They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. |
| 34 | イエスは哀れみに動かされて，彼らの目に触った。すると，すぐに彼らの目は見えるようになった。そして彼らはイエスに従った。 | So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him. |
