| 1 | 小子等よ父の訓をきけ 聰明を知んために耳をかたむけよ | Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. |
| 2 | われ善敎を汝らにさづく わが律を棄つることなかれ | For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. |
| 3 | われも我が父には子にして 我が母の目には獨の愛子なりき | For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. |
| 4 | 父われを敎へていへらく我が言を汝の心にとどめ わが誡命をまもれ 然らば生べし | He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. |
| 5 | 智慧をえ聰明をえよ これを忘るるなかれ また我が口の言に身をそむくるなかれ | Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. |
| 6 | 智慧をすつることなかれ彼なんぢを守らん 彼を愛せよ彼なんぢを保たん | Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. |
| 7 | 智慧は第一なるものなり 智慧をえよ 凡て汝の得たる物をもて聰明をえよ | Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. |
| 8 | 彼を尊べ さらば彼なんぢを高く擧げん もし彼を懐かば彼汝を尊榮からしめん | Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. |
| 9 | かれ美しき飾を汝の首に置き 榮の冠弁を汝に予へん | She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. |
| 10 | 我が子よきけ 我が言を納れよ さらば汝の生命の年おほからん | Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. |
| 11 | われ智慧の道を汝に敎へ義しき徑筋に汝を導けり | I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. |
| 12 | 歩くとき汝の歩は艱まず 趨るときも躓かじ | When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. |
| 13 | 堅く訓誨を執りて離すこと勿れ これを守れ これは汝の生命なり | Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. |
| 14 | 邪曲なる者の途に入ることなかれ 惡者の路をあやむこと勿れ | Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. |
| 15 | これを避よ 過ること勿れ 離れて去れ | Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. |
| 16 | そは彼等は惡を爲さざれば睡らず 人を躓かせざればいねず | For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. |
| 17 | 不義のパンを食ひ暴虐の酒を飮めばなり | For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. |
| 18 | 義者の途は旭光のごとし いよいよ光輝をまして晝の正午にいたる | But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. |
| 19 | 惡者の途は幽冥のごとし 彼らはその蹟くもののなになるを知ざるなり | The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. |
| 20 | わが子よ我が言をきけ 我が語るところに汝の耳を傾けよ | My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. |
| 21 | 之を汝の目より離すこと勿れ 汝の心のうちに守れ | Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. |
| 22 | 是は之を得るものの生命にしてまたその全體の良薬なり | For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. |
| 23 | すべての操守べき物よりもまさりて汝の心を守れ そは生命の流これより出ればなり | Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. |
| 24 | 虚偽の口を汝より棄さり 惡き口唇を汝より遠くはなせ | Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. |
| 25 | 汝の目は正く視 汝の眼瞼は汝の前を眞直に視るべし | Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. |
| 26 | 汝の足の徑をかんがへはかり 汝のすべての道を直くせよ | Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. |
| 27 | 右にも左にも偏ること勿れ汝の足を惡より離れしめよ | Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. |
