| 1 | 我が子よ汝もし我が言をうけ 我が誡命を汝のこころに蔵め | My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; |
| 2 | 斯て汝の耳を智慧に傾け汝の心をさとりにむけ | So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; |
| 3 | もし知識を呼求め聰明をえんと汝の聲をあげ | Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; |
| 4 | 銀の如くこれを探り 秘れたる寳の如くこれを尋ねば | If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; |
| 5 | 汝ヱホバを畏るることを暁り 神を知ることを得べし | Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. |
| 6 | そはヱホバは智慧をあたへ 知識と聰明とその口より出づればなり | For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. |
| 7 | かれは義人のために聰明をたくはへ 直く行む者の盾となる | He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. |
| 8 | そは公平の途をたもち その聖徒の途すぢを守りたまへばなり | He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. |
| 9 | 斯て汝はつひに公義と公平と正直と一切の善道を暁らん | Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. |
| 10 | すなはち智慧なんぢの心にいり 知識なんぢの霊魂に樂しからん | When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; |
| 11 | 謹愼なんぢを守り 聰明なんぢをたもちて | Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: |
| 12 | 惡き途よりすくひ虚偽をかたる者より救はん | To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; |
| 13 | 彼等は直き途をはなれて幽暗き路に行み | Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; |
| 14 | 惡を行ふを樂しみ 惡者のいつはりを悦び | Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; |
| 15 | その途はまがり その行爲は邪曲なり | Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: |
| 16 | 聰明はまた汝を妓女より救ひ 言をもて諂ふ婦より救はん | To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; |
| 17 | 彼はわかき時の侶をすて その神に契約せしことを忘るるなり | Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. |
| 18 | その家は死に下り その途は陰府に赴く | For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. |
| 19 | 凡てかれにゆく者は歸らず また生命の途に達らざるなり | None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. |
| 20 | 聰明汝をたもちてよき途に行ませ 義人の途を守らしめん | That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. |
| 21 | そは義人は地にながらへをり 完全者は地に止らん | For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. |
| 22 | されど惡者は地より亡され悖逆者は地より抜さらるべし | But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. |
