1 兄弟よ、われ靈に屬する者に對する如く汝らに語ること能はず、反つて肉に屬するもの、即ちキリストに在る幼兒に對する如く語れり。 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 われ汝らに乳のみ飮ませて堅き食物を與へざりき。汝 等そのとき食ふこと能はざりし故なり。 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 今もなほ食ふこと能はず、今もなほ肉に屬する者なればなり。汝らの中に嫉妬と紛爭とあるは、これ肉に屬する者にして世の人の如くに歩むならずや。 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 或 者は『われパウロに屬す』といひ、或 者は『われアポロに屬す』と言ふ、これ世の人の如くなるにあらずや。 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 アポロは何 者ぞ、パウロは何 者ぞ、彼 等はおのおの主の賜ふところに隨ひ、汝らをして信ぜしめたる役者に過ぎざるなり。 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 我は植ゑ、アポロは水 灌げり、されど育てたるは神なり。 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 されば種うる者も、水 灌ぐ者も數ふるに足らず、ただ尊きは育てたまふ神なり。 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 種うる者も、水 灌ぐ者も歸する所は一つなれど、各自おのが勞に隨ひて其の値を得べし。 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 我らは神と共に働く者なり。汝らは神の畠なり、また神の建築物なり。 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 我は神の賜ひたる恩惠に隨ひて、熟錬なる建築師のごとく基を据ゑたり、而して他の人その上に建つるなり。然れど如何にして建つべきか、おのおの心して爲すべし、 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 既に置きたる基のほかは誰も据うること能はず、この基は即ちイエス・キリストなり。 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 人もし此の基の上に金・銀・寳石・木・草・藁をもつて建てなば、 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 各人の工は顯るべし。かの日これを明かにせん、かの日は火をもつて顯れ、その火おのおのの工の如何を驗すべければなり。 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 その建つる所の工、もし保たば値を得、 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 もし其の工 燒けなば損すべし。然れど己は火より脱れ出づる如くして救はれん。 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 汝ら知らずや、汝らは神の宮にして、神の御靈なんぢらの中に住み給ふを。 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 人もし神の宮を毀たば神かれを毀ち給はん。それ神の宮は聖なり、汝らも亦かくの如し。 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
18 誰も自ら欺くな。汝 等のうち此の世にて自ら智しと思ふ者は、智くならんために愚なる者となれ。 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 そは此の世の智慧は神の前に愚なればなり。録して『彼は智者をその惡巧によりて捕へ給ふ』 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
20 また『主は智者の念の虚しきを知り給ふ』とあるが如し。 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 さらば誰も人を誇とすな、萬の物は汝らの有なればなり。 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
22 或はパウロ、或はアポロ、或はケパ、或は世界、あるひは生、あるひは死、あるひは現在のもの、或は未來のもの、皆なんぢらの有なり。 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
23 汝 等はキリストの有、キリストは神のものなり。 And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
