| 1 | 兄弟よ、われ曩に汝らに到りしとき、神の證を傳ふるに言と智慧との優れたるを用ひざりき。 | And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. |
| 2 | イエス・キリスト及びその十字架に釘けられ給ひし事のほかは、汝らの中にありて何をも知るまじと心を定めたればなり。 | For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. |
| 3 | 我なんぢらと偕に居りし時に、弱くかつ懼れ、甚く戰けり。 | And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. |
| 4 | わが談話も、宣教も、智慧の美しき言によらずして、御靈と能力との證明によりたり。 | And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: |
| 5 | これ汝らの信仰の、人の智慧によらず、神の能力に頼らん爲なり。 | That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. |
| 6 | されど我らは成人したる者の中にて智慧を語る。これ此の世の智慧にあらず、又この世の廢らんとする司たちの智慧にあらず、 | Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: |
| 7 | 我らは奧義を解きて神の智慧を語る、即ち隱れたる智慧にして、神われらの光榮のために、世の創の先より預じめ定め給ひしものなり。 | But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: |
| 8 | この世の司には之を知る者なかりき、もし知らば榮光の主を十字架に釘けざりしならん。 | Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. |
| 9 | 録して『神のおのれを愛する者のために備へ給ひし事は、眼いまだ見ず、耳いまだ聞かず、人の心いまだ思はざりし所なり』と有るが如し。 | But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. |
| 10 | されど我らには神これを御靈によりて顯し給へり。御靈はすべての事を究め、神の深き所まで究むればなり。 | But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. |
| 11 | それ人のことは己が中にある靈のほかに誰か知る人あらん、斯くのごとく神のことは神の御靈のほかに知る者なし。 | For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. |
| 12 | 我らの受けし靈は世の靈にあらず、神より出づる靈なり、是われらに神の賜ひしものを知らんためなり。 | Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. |
| 13 | 又われら之を語るに人の智慧の教ふる言を用ひず、御靈の教ふる言を用ふ、即ち靈の事に靈の言を當つるなり。 | Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. |
| 14 | 性來のままなる人は神の御靈のことを受けず、彼には愚なる者と見ゆればなり。また之を悟ること能はず、御靈のことは靈によりて辨ふべき者なるが故なり。 | But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. |
| 15 | されど靈に屬する者は、すべての事をわきまふ、而して己は人に辨へらるる事なし。 | But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. |
| 16 | 誰か主の心を知りて主を教ふる者あらんや。然れど我らはキリストの心を有てり。 | For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. |
