A Song of Praise
All you that are righteous, shout for joy for what the Lord has done; praise him, all you that obey him.
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
Give thanks to the Lord with harps, sing to him with stringed instruments. Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
Sing a new song to him, play the harp with skill, and shout for joy! Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
The words of the Lord are true, and all his works are dependable. For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.
The Lord loves what is righteous and just; his constant love fills the earth. He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
The Lord created the heavens by his command, the sun, moon, and stars by his spoken word. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
He gathered all the seas into one place; he shut up the ocean depths in storerooms. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Worship the Lord, all the earth! Honor him, all peoples of the world! Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
When he spoke, the world was created; at his command everything appeared. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
The Lord frustrates the purposes of the nations; he keeps them from carrying out their plans. The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
But his plans endure forever; his purposes last eternally. The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; happy are the people he has chosen for his own! Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
The Lord looks down from heaven and sees all of us humans. The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
From where he rules, he looks down on all who live on earth. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
He forms all their thoughts and knows everything they do. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
A king does not win because of his powerful army; a soldier does not triumph because of his strength. There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
War horses are useless for victory; their great strength cannot save. An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
The Lord watches over those who obey him, those who trust in his constant love. Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
He saves them from death; he keeps them alive in times of famine. To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
We put our hope in the Lord; he is our protector and our help. Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
We are glad because of him; we trust in his holy name. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
May your constant love be with us, Lord, as we put our hope in you. Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
