1	Neue Gewissheit Ein Lied Davids, nach der Melodie »Richte nicht zugrunde«. Er dichtete es, als er auf der Flucht vor Saul in der Höhle war.	Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
2	Erbarm dich, Gott, hab Erbarmen mit mir! Bei dir suche ich Zuflucht, im Schutz deiner Flügel will ich mich bergen, bis das Unglück vorüber ist.	I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
3	Zu Gott, dem Höchsten, schreie ich, zu ihm, der sich auf meine Seite stellt.	He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
4	Vom Himmel her wird er mir Hilfe schicken, auch wenn mein Verfolger noch so höhnt! Gott steht mir bei, denn er ist treu und gütig!	My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5	Mir ist, als wäre ich umringt von Löwen, die gierig sind auf Menschenfleisch. Ihre Zähne sind spitz wie Speere und Pfeile, ihre Zungen scharf wie geschliffene Schwerter.	Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
6	Gott, überstrahle den Himmel mit deiner Herrlichkeit und erfülle die Erde mit deiner Macht!	They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.
7	Sie haben mir ein Netz in den Weg gelegt, um mein Leben in ihre Gewalt zu bekommen. Eine Grube haben sie für mich gegraben; aber sie sind selber hineingefallen.	My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8	Mein Herz ist ruhig geworden, Gott, ich fühle mich wieder sicher; mit einem Lied will ich dich preisen.	Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9	Wach auf, mein Herz! Harfe und Laute, wacht auf, denn heute will ich die Sonne wecken!	I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10	Dir, Herr, bringe ich meinen Dank, von dir will ich singen vor allen Völkern;	For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
11	denn deine Güte reicht bis an den Himmel und deine Treue, so weit die Wolken ziehen!	Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.
