| 1 | Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, sopra Seminit SALVA, Signore; perciocchè gli uomini pii son venuti meno, Ed i veraci son mancati fra i figliuoli degli uomini. | Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. |
| 2 | Ciascuno parla con menzogna col suo prossimo, Con labbra lusinghiere; Parlano con un cuor doppio. | They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. |
| 3 | Il Signore ricida tutte le labbra lusinghiere, La lingua che parla altieramente; | The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things: |
| 4 | Di coloro che dicono: Noi sarem padroni colle nostre lingue; Le nostre labbra sono appo noi; Chi è signore sopra noi? | Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? |
| 5 | Per la desolazione de’ poveri afflitti, per le strida de’ bisognosi, Ora mi leverò, dice il Signore; Io metterò in salvo quelli contro a cui coloro parlano audacemente. | For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. |
