| 1 | Davidin Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle, Gittitin päällä. (H 8:2) Herra meidän Herramme! kuinka ihmeellinen on sinun nimes kaikessa maassa, joka panit kunnias taivasten ylitse. | O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. |
| 2 | Nuorten lasten ja imeväisten suusta perustit sinä voiman, vihollistes tähden, ettäs vihollisen ja kostajan murentaisit. | Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. |
| 3 | Sillä minä näen taivaat, sinun sormeis teot, kuun ja tähdet, jotka valmistit. | When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; |
| 4 | Mikä on ihminen, ettäs häntä muistat? eli ihmisen poika, ettäs häntä etsiskelet? | What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? |
