Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core. | Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! | For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God. | They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God. | They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever. | For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps, | The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
In the vale of tears, in the place which he hath set. | Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion. | Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. | Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
Behold, O God our protector: and look on the face of thy Christ. | Which perished at En–dor: they became as dung for the earth.
For better is one day in thy courts above thousands. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners. | Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory. | Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence: O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. | O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
— | As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
— | So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
— | Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.
— | Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
— | That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.
