| 1 | A canticle of a psalm for Asaph. | God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. |
| 2 | O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God. | How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. |
| 3 | For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. | Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. |
| 4 | They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints. | Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. |
| 5 | They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more. | They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. |
| 6 | For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee, | I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. |
| 7 | The tabernacle of the Edomites, and the Ishmahelites: Moab, and the Agarens, | But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. |
| 8 | Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre. | Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations. |
