| 1 | 從前以法蓮 說話，人都戰兢，他 在以色列中 居處高位；但他在事奉巴力 的事上犯罪 就死了。 | When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died. |
| 2 | 現今 他們罪上加 罪，用銀子 為自己 鑄造 偶像，就是照自己的聰明 製造，都是 匠人 的工作。有人 論說，獻祭的 人 可以向牛犢 親嘴。 | And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves. |
| 3 | 因此，他們必 如早晨 的雲霧，又如速散 的甘露，像場上 的糠秕 被狂風吹去，又像煙氣 騰於窗外。 | Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. |

| 6 | 這些民照我所賜的食物 得了飽足；既得飽足，心 就高傲， 忘記了我。 | According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me. |
| 7 | 因此，我 向他們 如 獅子，又如豹 伏 在 道旁。 | Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them: |
| 8 | 我遇見他們 必像丟 崽子的母熊，撕裂他們的胸膛（或譯：心 膜）。在那裡，我必像母獅 吞吃他們；野 獸 必撕裂他們。 | I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them. |

| 13 | 產婦 的疼痛 必臨到 他身上；他是 無 智慧 之子， 到了產 期 不當 遲延。 | The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children. |
| 14 | 我必救贖他們 脫離 陰間，救贖他們 脫離死亡。死亡啊，你的災害 在哪裡呢？陰間哪，你的毀滅 在哪裡呢？在我眼前 絕無 後悔之事。 | I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. |
| 15 | 他 在弟兄 中 雖然 茂盛，必有東風 颳來，就是耶和華 的風 從曠野 上來。他的泉源 必乾；他的源頭 必竭；仇敵 必擄掠 他所積蓄的 一切 寶 器。 | Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the Lord shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels. |
| 16 | 撒馬利亞 必擔當自己的罪，因為 悖逆她的 神。她必倒 在刀下；嬰孩 必被摔死；孕婦 必被剖開。 | Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. |
