| 1 | 酒 能使人褻慢，濃酒 使人喧嚷；凡 因酒 錯誤的，就無 智慧。 | Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. |
| 2 | 王 的威嚇 如同獅子 吼叫；惹動他怒的，是自害 己命。 | The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul. |
| 3 | 遠離 紛爭 是人的 尊榮；愚妄人 都 愛爭鬧。 | It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. |
| 4 | 懶惰人 因冬寒 不肯 耕種，到收割的時候，他必討 飯而無所得。 | The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. |
| 5 | 人 心 懷藏謀略，好像深 水，惟明哲 人 才能汲引出來。 | Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. |
| 6 | 人 多 述說 自己 的仁慈，但忠信 人 誰 能遇著呢？ | Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? |
| 7 | 行為 純正 的義人，他的子孫 是有福的！ | The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. |
| 8 | 王 坐 在 審判 的位上，以眼目 驅散 諸 惡。 | A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes. |
| 9 | 誰 能說，我潔淨了 我的心，我脫淨了 我的罪？ | Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? |
| 10 | 兩樣的法碼，兩樣的升斗， 都 為耶和華 所憎惡。 | Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the Lord. |
| 11 | 孩童 的動作 是 清潔，是 正直，都顯明 他的本性。 | Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. |
| 12 | 能聽 的耳，能看 的眼， 都是 耶和華 所造的。 | The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them. |
| 13 | 不要 貪 睡，免致 貧窮；眼 要睜開，你就吃 飽。 | Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. |
| 14 | 買物的 說：不好，不好；及至買去，他便 自誇。 | It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth. |
| 15 | 有 金子 和許多珍珠（或譯：紅寶石），惟有知識 的嘴 乃為貴重 的珍寶。 | There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. |
| 16 | 誰 為生人 作保，就拿 誰的衣服；誰為 外人 作保，誰就要承當。 | Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. |
| 17 | 以虛謊 而得的食物，人 覺甘甜；但後來，他的口 必充滿 塵沙。 | Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. |
| 18 | 計謀 都憑籌算 立定；打 仗 要憑智謀。 | Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war. |
| 19 | 往來 傳舌的，洩漏 密事；大張 嘴的，不可 與他結交。 | He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. |
| 20 | 咒罵 父 母的，他的燈 必滅，變為漆黑 的黑暗。 | Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. |
| 21 | 起初 速得 的產業，終久 卻不為 福。 | An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed. |
| 22 | 你不要 說，我要以惡報 惡；要等候 耶和華，他必拯救 你。 | Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee. |
| 23 | 兩樣的法碼 為耶和華 所憎惡；詭詐 的天平 也為不 善。 | Divers weights are an abomination unto the Lord; and a false balance is not good. |
| 24 | 人 的腳步 為耶和華所定；人 豈能 明白 自己的路呢？ | Man’s goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way? |
| 25 | 人 冒失說，這是聖物，許願 之後 才查問，就是自陷網羅。 | It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. |
| 26 | 智慧 的王 簸散 惡人，用碌碡滾 軋 他們。 | A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them. |
| 27 | 人 的靈 是耶和華 的燈，鑒察 人的心 腹。 | The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. |
| 28 | 王 因仁慈 和誠實 得以保全 他的國位，也因仁慈 立穩。 | Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy. |
| 29 | 強壯 乃少年人 的榮耀；白髮 為老年人 的尊榮。 | The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. |
| 30 | 鞭 傷 除淨 人的罪惡；責打 能入人的心 腹。 | The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly. |
