| 1 | 行為 純正 的貧窮人 勝 過乖謬 愚妄的富足人。 | Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool. |
| 2 | 心 無 知識的，乃為不 善；腳步 急快的，難免犯罪。 | Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. |
| 3 | 人 的愚昧 傾敗 他的道；他的心 也抱怨 耶和華。 | The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord. |
| 4 | 財物 使 朋友 增多；但窮人 朋友 遠離。 | Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour. |
| 5 | 作假 見證的，必不 免受罰；吐出 謊言的，終不能 逃脫。 | A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. |
| 6 | 好施散的，有多 人求 他的恩情；愛送禮的，人都 為他的 朋友。 | Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. |
| 7 | 貧窮人，弟兄 都 恨他；何況 他的朋友，更遠離 他！他用言語 追隨，他們 卻走了。 | All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him. |
| 8 | 得著 智慧的，愛惜 生命；保守 聰明的，必得 好處。 | He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. |
| 9 | 作假 見證的，不 免受罰；吐出 謊言的，也必滅亡。 | A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish. |
| 10 | 愚昧人 宴樂 度日是不 合宜的；何況 僕人 管轄 王子呢？ | Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes. |
| 11 | 人 有見識 就不輕易 發怒；寬恕 人的過失 便是自己的榮耀。 | The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. |
| 12 | 王 的忿怒 好像獅子 吼叫；他的恩典 卻如草 上 的甘露。 | The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. |
| 13 | 愚昧 的兒子 是父親的 禍患；妻子 的爭吵 如雨連連 滴漏。 | A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping. |
| 14 | 房屋 錢財 是祖宗 所遺留的；惟有賢慧 的妻 是耶和華所賜的。 | House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord. |
| 15 | 懶惰 使 人沉睡；懈怠 的人 必受飢餓。 | Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. |
| 16 | 謹守 誡命的，保全 生命；輕忽 己路的，必致死亡。 | He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. |
| 17 | 憐憫 貧窮的，就是借給 耶和華；他的善行，耶和華必償還。 | He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. |
| 18 | 趁 有 指望，管教 你的兒子；你的心 不可 任 他死亡。 | Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. |
| 19 | 暴 怒 的人 必受 刑罰；你若 救他，必須再救。 | A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again. |
| 20 | 你要聽 勸教，受 訓誨，使 你終久 有智慧。 | Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. |
| 21 | 人 心 多 有計謀；惟有耶和華 的籌算才能 立定。 | There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. |
| 22 | 施行仁慈的，令人 愛慕；窮人 強 如 說謊言的。 | The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar. |
| 23 | 敬畏 耶和華的，得著生命；他必恆久 知足，不 遭 禍患。 | The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. |
| 24 | 懶惰人 放 手 在盤子裡，就是 向 口 撤回，他也不肯。 | A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. |
| 25 | 鞭打 褻慢人，愚蒙人 必長見識；責備 明哲人，他就明白 知識。 | Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge. |
| 26 | 虐待 父親、攆出 母親的，是貽羞 致辱 之子。 | He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. |
| 27 | 我兒，不可 聽了 教訓 而又偏離 知識 的言語。 | Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge. |
| 28 | 匪徒 作見證 戲笑 公平；惡人 的口 吞下 罪孽。 | An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. |
| 29 | 刑罰 是為褻慢人 預備的；鞭打 是為愚昧人 的背預備的。 | Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools. |
