| 1 | 但 那 受過痛苦的 必不 再見幽暗。從前 神使西布倫 地 和拿弗他利 地 被藐視，末後 卻使這沿海 的路，約旦河 外，外邦人 的加利利地 得著榮耀。 | Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. |
| 2 | 在黑暗中 行走的 百姓 看見了 大 光；住 在死蔭 之地 的人有光 照耀 他們。 | The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. |
| 3 | 你使這國民 繁多，加增 他們的喜樂；他們在你面前 歡喜，好像收割 的歡喜，像 人分 擄物 那樣的快樂。 | Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. |

| 7 | 他的政權 與平安 必加增 無 窮。他必在 大衛 的寶座 上治理 他的國，以公平 公義 使國 堅定穩固，從今 直到 永遠。萬軍 之耶和華 的熱心 必成就 這事。 | Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. |

| 9 | 這眾 百姓，就是以法蓮 和撒馬利亞 的居民，都要知道；他們憑驕傲 自大 的心 說： | And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, |
| 10 | 磚牆 塌了，我們卻要鑿石頭 建築；桑樹 砍了，我們卻要換 香柏樹。 | The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. |
| 11 | 因此，耶和華 要高舉 利汛 的敵人 來攻擊以色列，並要激動 以色列的仇敵。 | Therefore the Lord shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together; |
| 12 | 東有 亞蘭人，西有 非利士人；他們張 口 要吞吃 以色列。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣 還未 轉消；他的手 仍 伸不縮。 | The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. |
| 13 | 這百姓 還沒有 歸 向 擊打他們的主，也沒有 尋求 萬軍 之耶和華。 | For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. |
| 14 | 因此，耶和華 一 日 之間必從以色列 中剪除 頭 與尾，棕枝 與蘆葦─ | Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. |
| 15 | 長老 和尊貴人 就是 頭，以謊言 教 人的先知 就是 尾。 | The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. |
| 16 | 因為，引導 這 百姓 的使他們走錯了路；被引導的 都必 敗亡。 | For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. |
| 17 | 所以，主 必不 喜悅 他們的少年人，也不 憐恤 他們的孤兒 寡婦；因為，各人 是褻瀆的，是行惡的，並且各人 的口 都說 愚妄的話。雖然 如此，耶和華 的怒氣 還未 轉消；他的手 仍 伸不縮。 | Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. |
| 18 | 邪惡 像火 焚燒，燒滅 荊棘 和蒺藜，在稠密 的樹林 中著起來，就成為煙柱，旋轉 上騰。 | For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke. |
| 19 | 因萬軍 之耶和華 的烈怒，地 都燒遍；百姓 成為 火 柴；無 人 憐愛 弟兄。 | Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother. |
| 20 | 有人 右邊 搶奪，仍受飢餓， 左邊 吞吃，仍不 飽足；各人 吃 自己膀臂 上的肉。 | And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm: |
| 21 | 瑪拿西吞吃（或譯：攻擊；下同） 以法蓮；以法蓮吞吃 瑪拿西，又 一同 攻擊 猶大。雖然 如此，耶和華的怒氣 還未 轉消；他的手 仍 伸不縮。 | Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. |
