| 2 | 當時 猶太人 的住棚 節 近了。 | Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand. |
| 3 | 耶穌 的弟兄 就 對 他 說：「你離開 這裡 上 猶太去吧，叫 你的 門徒 也 看見 你 所 行 的事。 | His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. |
| 4 | 人 要 顯揚 名聲， 沒有 在 暗處 行 事的；你如果 行 這些事，就當將自己 顯明 給世人看。」 | For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. |
| 5 | 因為 連他的 弟兄說這話，是因為不 信 他。 | For neither did his brethren believe in him. |
| 6 | 耶穌 就對他們 說：「我的 時候 還沒 有到； 你們的 時候 常 是 方便的。 | Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. |
| 7 | 世人 不能 恨 你們，卻是 恨 我，因為 我 指證 他們 所 做的 事 是 惡的。 | The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. |
| 8 | 你們 上去 過節吧，我 現在不 上去 過這 節，因為 我的 時候 還沒有 滿。」 | Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. |

| 10 | 但 他 弟兄 上去以後， 他 也 上去 過節，不 是明去，似乎 是 暗去的。 | But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret. |
| 11 | 正在 節期，猶太人 尋找 耶穌， 說：「他 在 哪裡？」 | Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he? |
| 12 | 眾人 為 他 紛紛 議論，有的 說：「 他是 好人。」有的 說：「不然， 他是迷惑 眾人的。」 | And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people. |
| 13 | 只是 沒有人 明明地 講論 他，因為 怕 猶太人。 | Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews. |
| 14 | 到了 節期，耶穌 上 殿 裡 去 教訓人。 | Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. |
| 15 | 猶太人 就希奇，說：「這個人 沒 有學過，怎麼 明白 書呢？」 | And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? |
| 16 | 耶穌 說：「我的 教訓 不 是 我自己的，乃是 那差 我來者的。 | Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. |
| 17 | 人 若 立志 遵著 他的 旨意行，就必曉得 這教訓 或是 出於 神，或是 我 憑著 自己 說的。 | If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. |
| 18 | 人憑著 自己 說，是求 自己的 榮耀；惟有 求 那差 他 來者的榮耀，這 人是 真的， 在他 心裡 沒 有 不義。 | He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. |
| 19 | 摩西 豈不 是傳 律法 給你們嗎？ 你們 卻沒有 一個人守 律法。為甚麼 想要 殺 我呢？」 | Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? |
| 20 | 眾人 回答說：「你是被鬼 附著了！誰 想要 殺 你？」 | The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee? |
| 21 | 耶穌 說：「我做了 一件 事， 你們都 以為希奇。 | Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. |
| 22 | 摩西 傳割禮 給 你們（其實 不 是 從摩西 起的，乃是 從祖先 起的）， 因此 你們也在 安息日 給人 行割禮。 | Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. |
| 23 | 人 若 在 安息日 受 割禮，免得 違背 摩西 的律法， 我在 安息日 叫 一個人 全然 好了，你們就向我 生氣嗎？ | If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? |
| 24 | 不 可按 外貌 斷定是非，總要 按公平 斷定是非。」 | Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. |
| 25 | 耶路撒冷人 中 有的 說：「這 不 是 他們想要 殺 的人嗎？ | Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? |
| 26 | 你看 他還明明地 講道， 他們也不向他 說 甚麼，難道官長 真 知道 這 是 基督嗎？ | But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? |
| 27 | 然而，我們知道 這個人 從哪裡 來；只是 基督 來 的時候，沒有人 知道 他從哪裡 來。」 | Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. |
| 28 | 那時，耶穌 在 殿 裡教訓人，大聲 說：「你們也 知道我，也 知道 我 從哪裡來； 我來 並不 是由於 自己。但 那差 我 來的是 真的。你們 不 認識 他， | Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. |
| 29 | 我 卻認識 他；因為 我是 從 他來的，他 也是差了 我來。」 | But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me. |
| 30 | 他們就想要 捉拿 耶穌；只是 沒有人 下 手，因為 他的 時候 還沒有 到。 | Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. |
| 31 | 但眾人 中間 有好些 信 他的， 說：「基督 來 的時候，他所 行 的神蹟 豈能 比這 人所行 的更多嗎？」 | And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? |
| 32 | 法利賽人 聽見 眾人 為 耶穌 這樣 紛紛議論， 祭司長 和 法利賽人 就打發 差役 去 捉拿 他。 | The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. |
| 33 | 於是 耶穌 說：「我 還有 不多 的時候 和你們 同在， 以後就回 到 差 我來的那裡去。 | Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. |
| 34 | 你們要找 我，卻 找 不 著； 我 所在 的地方 你們 不能 到。」 | Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. |
| 35 | 猶太人 就彼此 對問說：「這人 要 往哪裡 去，叫 我們 找 不著呢？難道他要 往 散住 希臘 中的猶太人那裡去 教訓 希臘人嗎？ | Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? |
| 36 | 他說：『你們要找 我，卻 找 不 著； 我 所在 的地方，你們 不能 到』，這 話 是 甚麼意思呢？」 | What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come? |
| 37 | 節期 的末 日，就是最大之日，耶穌 站著 高聲 說：「人 若 渴了， 可以到 我 這裡來 喝。 | In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
| 38 | 信 我 的人就如 經上 所說：『從他 腹中 要流 出 活 水 的江河來。』」 | He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. |
| 39 | 耶穌 這 話是指著信 他 之人 要 受 聖靈說的。 那時還沒有 賜下聖靈來，因為 耶穌 尚未 得著榮耀。 | (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) |
| 40 | 眾人 聽見 這 話，有的說：「這 真 是 那先知。」 | Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. |
| 41 | 有的 說：「這 是 基督。」但 也有的說：「基督 豈是 從 加利利 出來的嗎？ | Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? |
| 42 | 經上 豈不是 說『基督 是大衛 的 後裔， 從 大衛 本鄉 伯利恆 出來的』嗎？」 | Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? |
| 43 | 於是 眾人 因著 耶穌 起了紛爭。 | So there was a division among the people because of him. |
| 44 | 其中 有人 要 捉拿 他，只是 無人 下 手。 | And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him. |
| 45 | 差役 回到 祭司長 和 法利賽人那裡。 他們 對差役說：「你們為甚麼 沒有 帶 他來呢？」 | Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? |
| 46 | 差役 回答說：「從來沒有 像他 這樣說話的！」 | The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. |
| 47 | 法利賽人 說：「你們 也 受了迷惑嗎？ | Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? |
| 48 | 官長 或是 法利賽人 豈有 信 他的呢？ | Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? |
| 49 | 但 這 些 不 明白 律法 的百姓 是 被咒詛的！」 | But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed. |
| 50 | 內中 有 尼哥底母，就是從前 去 見耶穌的，對 他們 說： | Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) |
| 51 | 「不 先 聽 本人的口供， 不知道 他所做 的事，難道我們的 律法 還定 他的罪嗎？」 | Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? |
| 52 | 他們回答 說：「你 也 是 出於 加利利嗎？你且去查考，就 可 知道 加利利 沒有 出過 先知。」 | They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. |
