| 6 | 他們說 這話，乃試探 耶穌，要 得著 告 他的把柄。 耶穌 卻彎著腰，用指頭 在 地上 畫字。 | This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. |
| 7 | 他們還是不住地 問 他， 耶穌就直起腰來，對他們 說：「你們中間 誰是沒有罪的，誰就可以先 拿 石頭 打 她。」 | So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. |

| 13 | 法利賽人 對他 說：「你 是為 自己 作見證，你的 見證 不 真。」 | The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. |
| 14 | 耶穌 說：「我 雖然 為 自己 作見證，我的 見證 還是 真的；因 我知道 我從哪裡 來， 往哪裡 去；你們 卻 不 知道 我從哪裡 來， 往哪裡 去。 | Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. |
| 15 | 你們 是以外貌（原文是憑肉身）判斷人，我 卻不 判斷 人。 | Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. |
| 16 | 就是 判斷人，我的 判斷 也是 真的；因為 不 是我 獨自在這裡，還有 差 我 來的父 與 我同在。 | And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. |

| 19 | 他們就問 他說：「你的 父 在 哪裡？」耶穌 回答說：「你們不 認識 我，也不 認識我的 父；若 是認識 我， 也 就認識 我的 父。」 | Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. |
| 20 | 這些 話 是耶穌在 殿 裡 的庫房、教訓 人時所說的， 也沒有人 拿 他，因為 他的 時候 還沒有 到。 | These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come. |

| 22 | 猶太人 說：「 他說『我 所去 的地方，你們 不能 到』，難道他要自 盡嗎？」 | Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. |
| 23 | 耶穌對他們 說：「你們 是 從 下頭來的，我 是 從 上頭來的；你們 是 屬 這 世界的，我 不 是 屬 這 世界的。 | And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. |
| 24 | 所以 我對你們 說， 你們要死在 罪 中。 你們若 不 信 我 是基督，必要死在 罪 中。」 | I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. |
| 25 | 他們就問 他說：「你 是 誰？」耶穌 對他們 說：「就是 我從起初 所告訴 你們的。 | Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. |
| 26 | 我有 許多事 講論你們， 判斷 你們；但 那差 我 來的是 真的，我 在 他 那裡 所聽見的，我就傳給 世人。」 | I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. |
| 27 | 他們 不 明白 耶穌是 指著父 說的。 | They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. |
| 28 | 所以 耶穌 說：「 你們舉起 人 子 以後，必知道 我是基督，並且 知道我沒有一件事 是憑著 自己 做的。 我說 這些話 乃是照著 父 所教訓 我的。 | Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. |
| 29 | 那差 我 來的是 與我 同在；他沒 有撇下 我 獨自在這裡，因為 我 常 做 他 所喜悅的事。」 | And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. |
| 30 | 耶穌 說 這話的時候，就有許多 人信 他。 | As he spake these words, many believed on him. |
| 31 | 耶穌 對 信 他 的猶太人 說：「你們 若 常常 遵守 我的 道， 就真是 我的 門徒； | Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; |
| 32 | 你們必曉得 真理， 真理 必叫你們 得以自由。」 | And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |
| 33 | 他們回答說：「我們是 亞伯拉罕 的後裔， 從來沒有 作過誰 的奴僕。你 怎麼 說『你們 必得以 自由』呢？」 | They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? |
| 34 | 耶穌 回答說：「我實實在在地 告訴 你們， 所有 犯 罪 的就是 罪 的奴僕。 | Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. |
| 35 | 奴僕 不能 永遠 住在 家 裡；兒子 是永遠 住在家裡。 | And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. |
| 36 | 所以 天父的兒子 若 叫你們 自由，你們就 真 自由了。 | If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. |
| 37 | 我知道 你們是 亞伯拉罕 的子孫， 你們卻想要 殺 我，因為 你們 心裡 容 不 下我的 道。 | I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. |
| 38 | 我 所說的 是 在我父 那裡 看見的； 你們 所行的 是 在你們的父 那裡 聽見 的。」 | I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. |
| 39 | 他們說：「我們的 父 就是 亞伯拉罕。」耶穌 說：「你們若 是 亞伯拉罕 的兒子，就必行 亞伯拉罕 所行的事。 | They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. |

| 42 | 耶穌 說：「倘若 神 是 你們的 父，你們就必 愛 我；因為 我 本是出於 神，也是 從 神而來，並不是 由著 自己 來，乃是 他 差 我來。 | Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. |
| 43 | 你們為甚麼 不 明白 我的 話呢？無非是因 你們不能 聽 我的 道。 | Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. |
| 44 | 你們 是 出於 你們的父 魔鬼， 你們 父 的私慾 你們偏要 行。他 從 起初 是 殺人的， 不 守 真理，因 他心 裡 沒 有 真理。 他說 謊 是出於 自己；因 他本來是 說謊的，也是 說謊之人 的父。 | Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. |
| 45 | 我 將真理 告訴你們，你們就因此 不 信 我。 | And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. |
| 46 | 你們 中間 誰 能指證 我 有 罪呢？我既然 將真理 告訴 你們，為甚麼 不 信 我呢？ | Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? |
| 47 | 出於 神的，必聽 神 的話； 你們 不 聽，因為 你們不 是 出於 神。」 | He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. |
| 48 | 猶太人 回答 說：「我們 說 你 是 撒馬利亞人，並且 是鬼 附著的， 這話豈不 正對嗎？」 | Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil? |
| 49 | 耶穌 說：「我 不 是 鬼附著的； 我尊敬 我的 父， 你們 倒輕慢 我。 | Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. |
| 50 | 我 不 求 自己的 榮耀，有 一位為我求榮耀、 定是非的。 | And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. |
| 51 | 我實實在在地 告訴 你們，人 若 遵守 我的 道，就永遠 不 見 死。」 | Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. |
| 52 | 猶太人 對他 說：「現在 我們知道 你是鬼 附著的。亞伯拉罕 死了， 眾先知也死了， 你 還說：『人 若 遵守 我的 道，就永遠 不 嘗 死味。』 | Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. |
| 53 | 難道你 比 我們的 祖宗 亞伯拉罕 還大嗎？他 死了， 眾先知 也死了，你將自己 當作 甚麼人呢？」 | Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? |
| 54 | 耶穌 回答說：「我 若 榮耀 自己，我的 榮耀 就算不得甚麼；榮耀 我 的乃是 我的 父， 就是你們 所說 是 你們的 神。 | Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: |
| 55 | 你們未 曾認識 他； 我 卻認識 他。 我若說 不 認識 他，我就是 說謊的，像 你們一樣；但 我認識 他，也 遵守 他的 道。 | Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. |
| 56 | 你們的 祖宗 亞伯拉罕 歡歡喜喜地 仰望 我的 日子， 既看見了 就 快樂。」 | Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. |
| 57 | 猶太人 說：「你 還沒有 五十 歲， 豈見過 亞伯拉罕呢？」 | Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? |
| 58 | 耶穌 說：「我實實在在地 告訴 你們，還沒有 亞伯拉罕 就有了 我。」 | Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. |
| 59 | 於是 他們拿 石頭 要 打 他； 耶穌 卻躲藏， 從殿 裡出去了。 | Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. |
