| 1 | 大衛 王 年紀 老 邁，雖用被 遮蓋，仍不 覺暖。 | Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat. |
| 2 | 所以臣僕 對他 說：「不如為我主 我王 尋找 一個處女，使她伺候 王， 奉養 王，睡 在王的懷中，好叫我主 我王 得暖。」 | Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat. |
| 3 | 於是在以色列 全 境 尋找 美貌 的童女，尋得 書念 的一個童女亞比煞，就帶 到王那裡。 | So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. |

| 12 | 現在 我可以 給你出個 主意，好保全 你 和你兒子 所羅門 的性命。 | Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon. |
| 13 | 你進 去 見 大衛 王，對他 說：『我主 我王啊，你 不 曾向婢女 起誓 說：你兒子 所羅門 必 接續我 作王， 坐 在 我的位上嗎？現在亞多尼雅 怎麼 作了王呢？』 | Go and get thee in unto king David, and say unto him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then doth Adonijah reign? |
| 14 | 你還 與 王 說話 的時候，我 也隨後 進去，證實 你的話。」 | Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the king, I also will come in after thee, and confirm thy words. |
| 15 | 拔示巴 進 入內室 見 王，王 甚 老邁，書念 的童女亞比煞 正伺候 王。 | And Bath–sheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king. |
| 16 | 拔示巴 向王 屈身 下拜；王 說：「你 要甚麼？」 | And Bath–sheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou? |
| 17 | 她說：「我主啊，你 曾向婢女 指著耶和華─你的 神 起誓 說：『你兒子 所羅門 必接續我 作王， 坐 在 我的位上。』 | And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the Lord thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne. |
| 18 | 現在 亞多尼雅 作王了， 我主 我王 卻不 知道。 | And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not: |
| 19 | 他宰了 許多 牛 羊、肥犢，請了 王 的眾 子 和祭司 亞比亞他，並元帥 約押；惟獨王的僕人 所羅門，他沒有 請。 | And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called. |
| 20 | 我主 我王啊，以色列 眾人 的眼目 都仰望你，等你曉諭 他們，在我主 我王 之後 誰 坐 你的位。 | And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him. |
| 21 | 若不然，到 我主 我王 與 列祖 同睡以後，我 和我兒子 所羅門 必算為 罪人了。」 | Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders. |
| 22 | 拔示巴還 與 王 說話的時候，先知 拿單 也進來了。 | And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in. |
| 23 | 有人奏告 王 說：「 先知 拿單來了。」拿單進 到王 前， 臉 伏 於地。 | And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground. |
| 24 | 拿單 說：「我主 我王 果然應許亞多尼雅 說『你必接續我 作王， 坐 在 我的位上』嗎？ | And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? |
| 25 | 他今日 下去，宰了 許多 牛 羊、肥犢，請了 王 的眾 子 和軍 長，並祭司 亞比亞他；他們 正在亞多尼雅面前 吃 喝，說：『願亞多尼雅 王 萬歲！』 | For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah. |
| 26 | 惟獨 我，就是你的僕人 和祭司 撒督，耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅，並王的僕人 所羅門，他都沒有 請。 | But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called. |

| 28 | 大衛 王 吩咐 說：「叫 拔示巴來。」拔示巴就進來，站 在王 面前。 | Then king David answered and said, Call me Bath–sheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the king. |
| 29 | 王 起誓 說：「我指著救 我性命 脫離一切 苦難、 永生 的耶和華起誓。 | And the king sware, and said, As the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress, |
| 30 | 我既然 指著耶和華─以色列的 神 向你 起誓 說：你兒子 所羅門 必 接續我 作王， 坐 在 我的位上。我今 日 就必 照這話 而行。」 | Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day. |
| 31 | 於是，拔示巴 臉 伏 於地，向王 下拜，說：「願我主 大衛 王 萬 歲！」 | Then Bath–sheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever. |
| 32 | 大衛 王 又吩咐說：「將祭司 撒督、先知 拿單、耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅 召來！」他們就都來 到王 面前。 | And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king. |

| 35 | 然後要跟隨他 上來， 使他坐 在 我的位上， 接續我 作王。我已立 他 作 以色列 和 猶大 的君。」 | Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah. |
| 36 | 耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅 對 王 說：「阿們！願耶和華─我主 我王的 神 也這樣 命定。 | And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the Lord God of my lord the king say so too. |
| 37 | 耶和華 怎樣 與 我主 我王 同在，願他照樣 與 所羅門 同在，使 他的國位 比我主 大衛 王 的國位 更大。」 | As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David. |
| 38 | 於是，祭司 撒督、先知 拿單、耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人 都下去 使 所羅門 騎 大衛 王 的騾子，將他 送 到 基訓。 | So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David’s mule, and brought him to Gihon. |
| 39 | 祭司 撒督 就從 帳幕 中取了 盛膏油 的角來，用膏膏 所羅門。人就吹 角，眾 民 都說：「願所羅門 王 萬歲！」 | And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon. |
| 40 | 眾 民 跟隨他 上來， 且吹 笛，大大 歡 呼，聲音 震 地。 | And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them. |
| 41 | 亞多尼雅 和 所 請 的眾客 筵宴方 畢，聽見這聲音；約押 聽見 角 聲 就說：「城 中為何 有這響 聲呢？」 | And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar? |
| 42 | 他正 說話的時候， 祭司 亞比亞他 的兒子 約拿單 來了。亞多尼雅 對他說：「進來吧！ 你 是個忠義 的人，必是報好 信息。」 | And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came: and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings. |
| 43 | 約拿單 對亞多尼雅 說：「我們的主 大衛 王 誠然 立 所羅門 為王了。 | And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David hath made Solomon king. |
| 44 | 王 差遣 祭司 撒督、 先知 拿單、 耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅，和基利提人、比利提人 都去使 所羅門騎 王 的騾子。 | And the king hath sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king’s mule: |
| 45 | 祭司 撒督 和先知 拿單 在基訓 已經膏 他 作王。眾人都從那裡 歡呼 著上來，聲音使城 震動，這就是 你們所 聽見 的聲音； | And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard. |
| 46 | 並且 所羅門 登了 國 位。 | And also Solomon sitteth on the throne of the kingdom. |
| 47 | 王 的臣僕 也 來 為 我們的主 大衛 王 祝福，說：『願王的 神 使 所羅門 的名 比王的名 更尊榮；使 他的國位 比王的國位 更大。』王 就在 床 上屈身下拜。 | And moreover the king’s servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed. |
| 48 | 王 又 說：『耶和華─以色列的 神 是應當稱頌的；因他 賜 我一人今日 坐 在 我的位上，我也親眼 看見了。』」 | And also thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which hath given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it. |
| 49 | 亞多尼雅的 眾 客 聽見這話就都驚懼，起來 四散。 | And all the guests that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way. |
| 50 | 亞多尼雅 懼怕 所羅門，就起來，去 抓住 祭壇 的角。 | And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar. |
| 51 | 有人告訴 所羅門 說：「 亞多尼雅 懼怕 所羅門 王，現在 抓住 祭壇 的角，說：『願所羅門 王 今日 向我 起誓，必不 用刀 殺 僕人。』」 | And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword. |
| 52 | 所羅門 說：「他若 作 忠義 的人，連一根頭髮 也不致 落 在地上；他若 行惡，必要死亡。」 | And Solomon said, If he will shew himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die. |
| 53 | 於是所羅門 王 差遣人，使亞多尼雅從 壇 上下來，他就來，向所羅門 王 下拜；所羅門 對他 說：「你回家 去吧！」 | So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house. |
