| 2 | 大衛 就吩咐 跟隨他 的 元帥 約押說：「你 去走遍 以色列 眾 支派，從但 直到 別是巴，數點 百姓，我好知道 他們 的數目。」 | For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beer–sheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people. |
| 3 | 約押 對 王 說：「無論 百姓 多少，願耶和華─你的 神 再加增 百 倍，使我主 我王 親眼 得見。我主 我王 何必 喜悅 行這 事呢？」 | And Joab said unto the king, Now the Lord thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing? |

| 7 | 來到 泰爾 的保障，並希未人 和迦南人 的各 城，又到 猶大 南方 的別是巴。 | And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beer–sheba. |

And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. |
| 11 | 大衛 早晨 起來，耶和華 的話 臨 到 先知 迦得，就是大衛 的先見，說： | For when David was up in the morning, the word of the Lord came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, |
| 12 | 「你去 告訴 大衛，說耶和華 如此 說：『我 有 三樣災，隨你 選擇 一 樣，我好降 與你。』」 | Go and say unto David, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. |
| 13 | 於是迦得 來 見 大衛，對他 說：「你願意國中 有 七 年 的饑荒呢？是 在你敵人 面前 逃跑，被 追趕 三 個月呢？是 在你國中 有 三 日 的瘟疫呢？現在 你要揣摩 思想， 我好回 覆 那差我來的。」 | So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. |
| 14 | 大衛 對 迦得 說：「我 甚 為難！我願 落 在耶和華 的手裡，因為 他有豐盛的 憐憫。我不 願落 在人 的手裡。」 | And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. |
| 15 | 於是，耶和華 降 瘟疫 與以色列人，自早晨 到 所定的 時候；從但 直到 別是巴， 民間 死 了七萬 人。 | So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer–sheba seventy thousand men. |
| 16 | 天使 向耶路撒冷 伸 手 要滅城的時候，耶和華 後悔，就 不降這災了，吩咐 滅 民 的天使說：「夠了！ 住 手吧！」那時耶和華 的使者 在 耶布斯人 亞勞拿 的禾場那裡。 | And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. |
| 17 | 大衛 看見 滅 民 的天使，就禱告 耶和華 說：「 我 犯了罪， 行了惡；但這 群羊 做 了甚麼呢？願 你的手 攻擊我 和我的父 家。」 | And David spake unto the Lord when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house. |
| 18 | 當 日，迦得 來 見 大衛，對他 說：「你上去，在耶布斯人 亞勞拿 的禾場 上為耶和華 築 一座壇。」 | And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the Lord in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. |
| 19 | 大衛 就照著迦得 奉耶和華 名所 說 的話 上去了。 | And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the Lord commanded. |
| 20 | 亞勞拿 觀看，見 王 和 他臣僕 前來， 就迎接出去，臉 伏於地，向王 下拜， | And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground. |
| 21 | 說：「我主 我王 為何 來 到 僕人這裡呢？」大衛 說：「我要買 你 這禾場，為耶和華 築 一座壇，使 民間 的瘟疫 止住。」 | And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the Lord, that the plague may be stayed from the people. |
| 22 | 亞勞拿 對 大衛 說：「我主 我王，你 喜悅用甚麼，就拿去 獻祭。看哪，這裡有牛 可以作燔祭，有打糧的器具 和套牛 的軛 可以當柴燒。 | And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood. |
| 23 | 王啊，這一切，我亞勞拿 都奉 給你」； 又對 王 說：「願耶和華─你的 神 悅納你。」 | All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The Lord thy God accept thee. |
| 24 | 王 對 亞勞拿 說：「不然。 我必 要按著價值 向你 買；我不肯 用白得 之物作燔祭 獻 給耶和華─我的 神。」大衛 就用五十 舍客勒 銀子 買 了 那禾場 與 牛。 | And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. |
| 25 | 大衛 在那裡 為耶和華 築 了一座壇，獻 燔祭 和平安祭。如此，耶和華 垂聽國民 所求的，瘟疫 在 以色列 人中就止住了。 | And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. |
