| 1 | 約書亞 清早 起來， 和以色列 眾 人 都離開 什亭，來 到 約旦河，就住 在那裡，等候 過河。 | And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over. |
| 2 | 過了 三 天，官長 走 遍營 中， | And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host; |
| 3 | 吩咐 百姓 說：「你們 看見 耶和華─你們 神 的約 櫃，又見祭司 利未人 抬著，就要離開 所住的地方，跟著 約櫃去。 | And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. |
| 4 | 只是 你們和 約櫃相 離 要 量 二千 肘，不可 與約櫃 相近，使 你們知道 所 當走 的路，因為 這條路 你們向來 沒有 走過。」 | Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. |

| 6 | 約書亞 又吩咐 祭司 說：「你們抬起 約 櫃，在百姓 前頭 過去。」於是他們抬起 約 櫃，在百姓 前頭 走。 | And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people. |
| 7 | 耶和華 對 約書亞 說：「從今 日 起，我必使你在以色列 眾人 眼前 尊大，使 他們知道 我怎樣 與 摩西 同在，也必 照樣與你同在。 | And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee. |

| 10 | 約書亞 說：「看哪，普 天下 主 的約 櫃 必在你們前頭 過去，到約旦河裡，因此 你們就知道 在你們中間 有永生 神；並且他必在你們面前 趕出 迦南人、赫人、希未人、比利洗人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、耶布斯人。 | And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites. |
