| 1 | 當下，嫩 的兒子 約書亞 從 什亭 暗暗 打發 兩個 人 作探子，吩咐說：「你們去 窺探 那地和 耶利哥。」於是二人去了，來 到一個妓 女 名叫 喇合 的家裡，就在那裡 躺臥。 | And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there. |
| 2 | 有人告訴 耶利哥 王 說：「 今夜 有 以色列 人 來到 這裡 窺探 此地。」 | And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. |
| 3 | 耶利哥 王 打發 人去見 喇合 說：「那 來到 你這裡、進了 你家 的人 要交出來，因為 他們來 窺探 全 地。」 | And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. |
| 4 | 女人 將 二 人 隱藏，就回答說：「那人 果然 到我這裡 來；他們 是哪裡來的 我卻不 知道。 | And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: |
| 5 | 天黑、要關 城門的時候，他們 出去了， 往哪裡 去 我卻不 知道。你們快快地 去追趕，就必 追上。」 | And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. |
| 6 | （先是女人 領二人上了 房頂，將他們藏 在 那裡 所擺的 麻 秸中。） | But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. |
| 7 | 那些人 就往 約旦河 的渡口 追趕 他們 去了。追趕 他們 的人一 出去，城門 就關了。 | And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. |
| 8 | 二人 還沒有 躺臥，女人 就上 房頂，到他們那裡， | And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; |
| 9 | 對 他們 說：「我知道 耶和華 已經把 這地 賜 給你們，並且因 你們的緣故我們 都驚慌了。 這地 的一切 居民 在你們面前 心都消化了； | And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. |
| 10 | 因為 我們聽見 你們出 埃及的時候，耶和華 怎樣 在你們前面 使 紅 海 的水 乾了，並且你們怎樣 待 約旦河 東 的 兩個 亞摩利 王 西宏 和噩，將 他們 盡行毀滅。 | For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. |
| 11 | 我們一聽見這些事，心 就消化了。因你們的緣故，並 無 一人 有 膽氣。 耶和華─你們的 神 本是 上 天 下 地的 神。 | And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. |
| 12 | 現在 我既 是 恩 待 你們，求 你們指著耶和華 向我 起誓，也 要 恩 待 我父 家，並給 我 一個實在 的證據， | Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token: |
| 13 | 要救活 我的父 母、弟兄、姊妹，和 一切 屬他們的，拯救 我們性命 不死。」 | And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. |
| 14 | 二人 對她 說：「你若 不 洩漏 我們這 件事，我們 情願替你們 死。 耶和華 將 這地 賜 給我們的時候，我們必以慈愛 誠實 待 你。」 | And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee. |
| 15 | 於是女人用繩子 將二人從 窗戶 裡縋下去；因 她的房子 是在城 牆邊上，她 也住 在城牆上。 | Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. |
| 16 | 她對他們 說：「你們且往山上 去，恐怕 追趕的人 碰見 你們；要在那裡 隱藏 三 天，等 追趕 的人回來，然後 才可以走 你們的路。」 | And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way. |
| 17 | 二人 對她 說：「你要這樣行。不然，你叫我們所 起的 誓 就與我們 無干了。 | And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear. |
| 18 | 我們 來 到這地的時候，你要把 這條 朱紅 線 繩 繫 在 縋我們下去 的 窗戶 上，並要使你的父 母、弟兄，和 你父 的全 家 都聚集 在你 家中。 | Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee. |
| 19 | 凡 出了 你家 門 往街上 去的，他的罪（原文是血）必歸到自己的頭上，與我們 無干了。凡 在你家裡 的，若 有人下手害 他，流他血 的罪就歸到我們的頭上。 | And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him. |
| 20 | 你若 洩漏 我們這件 事，你叫我們所 起 的誓 就與我們 無干了。」 | And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear. |
| 21 | 女人說：「照你們的話行吧！」於是打發他們 去了，又把 朱紅 線繩 繫 在窗戶上。 | And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window. |
| 22 | 二人到 山上，在那裡 住了 三 天，等著 追趕的人 回去了。追趕的人 一 路 找他們，卻找 不著。 | And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not. |
| 23 | 二 人 就下 山 回來，過了河，到 嫩 的兒子 約書亞那裡，向他述說 所 遭遇的 一切事； | So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them: |
| 24 | 又對 約書亞 說：「耶和華 果然 將 那全 地 交 在我們手中； 那地 的一切 居民 在我們面前 心都消化了。」 | And they said unto Joshua, Truly the Lord hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us. |
