| 1 | 以色列 人 又 行 耶和華 眼中 看為惡的事，耶和華 將他們 交 在非利士人 手中 四十 年。 | And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. |
| 2 | 那時，有 一個 瑣拉 人，是屬但 族的，名 叫瑪挪亞。他的妻 不懷孕，不 生育。 | And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. |
| 3 | 耶和華 的使者 向 那婦人 顯現，對她 說：「 向來你 不懷孕，不 生育，如今 你必懷孕 生 一個兒子。 | And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. |
| 4 | 所以 你當謹慎， 清酒 濃酒 都不可 喝，一切 不潔 之物也不可 吃。 | Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: |
| 5 | 你必 懷孕 生 一個兒子，不可 用剃頭刀 剃 他的頭，因為 這孩子 一出 胎就歸 神 作 拿細耳人。他 必起首 拯救 以色列人 脫離非利士人 的手。」 | For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. |
| 6 | 婦人 就回去 對丈夫 說：「有一個神 人 到我面前 來，他的相貌如 神 使者 的相貌，甚是 可畏。我沒有 問 他 從 哪裡來，他也沒有 將 他的名 告訴 我， | Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name: |
| 7 | 卻對我 說：『 你要懷孕 生 一個兒子，所以 清酒 濃酒 都不可 喝，一切 不潔之物 也不可 吃；因為 這孩子 從出 胎 一直到 死，必歸 神 作 拿細耳人。』」 | But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death. |
| 8 | 瑪挪亞 就祈求 耶和華 說：「主 啊，求 你再 差遣 那 神 人 到我們 這裡來，好指教我們 怎樣 待 這將要生 的孩子。」 | Then Manoah intreated the Lord, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born. |
| 9 | 神 應允 瑪挪亞 的話；婦人 正坐 在田間的時候， 神 的使者 又 到 她 那裡，她丈夫 瑪挪亞 卻沒 有同她在一處。 | And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her. |
| 10 | 婦人 急忙 跑 去告訴 丈夫 說：「 那日 到我面前 來 的 人，又向我 顯現。」 | And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day. |
| 11 | 瑪挪亞 起來 跟隨 他的妻 來 到 那人面前，對他 說：「與 這婦人 說話 的 就是你嗎？」他說：「是我。」 | And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am. |
| 12 | 瑪挪亞 說：「願 你的話 應驗！我們當怎樣 待 這孩子，他後來當 怎樣呢？」 | And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him? |
| 13 | 耶和華 的使者 對 瑪挪亞 說：「我告訴 婦人 的 一切事，她都當謹慎。 | And the angel of the Lord said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware. |
| 14 | 葡萄樹 所 結 的都 不可 吃，清酒 濃酒 都不可 喝，一切 不潔之物 也不可 吃。凡 我所 吩咐的，她都當遵守。」 | She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe. |
| 15 | 瑪挪亞 對 耶和華 的使者 說：「求 你容我們款留 你，好為你 預備 一隻山羊羔。」 | And Manoah said unto the angel of the Lord, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee. |
| 16 | 耶和華 的使者 對 瑪挪亞 說：「你雖然 款留我，我卻不 吃 你的食物，你若 預備 燔祭 就當獻 與耶和華。」原來 瑪挪亞 不 知道 他是 耶和華 的使者。 | And the angel of the Lord said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the Lord. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the Lord. |
| 17 | 瑪挪亞 對 耶和華 的使者 說：「請將 你的名告訴我， 到你話 應驗的時候，我們好尊敬你。」 | And Manoah said unto the angel of the Lord, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? |
| 18 | 耶和華 的使者 對他 說：「你何必 問 我的名，我名是 奇妙的。」 | And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? |
| 19 | 瑪挪亞 將 一隻山羊羔 和 素祭 在 磐石 上獻 與耶和華，使者行 奇妙的事；瑪挪亞 和他的妻 觀看， | So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the Lord: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. |
| 20 | 見火焰 從 壇 上往上 升，耶和華 的使者 在壇 上的火焰中 也升上去了。瑪挪亞 和他的妻 看見，就俯伏 於 地。 | For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. |
| 21 | 耶和華 的使者 不 再 向 瑪挪亞 和 他的妻 顯現，瑪挪亞 才 知道 他是 耶和華 的使者。 | But the angel of the Lord did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the Lord. |
| 22 | 瑪挪亞 對 他的妻 說：「我們必要 死，因為 看見了 神。」 | And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. |
| 23 | 他的妻 卻對他 說：「耶和華 若 要 殺我們，必不 從我們手裡 收納 燔祭 和素祭，並不 將 這 一切 事指示我們，今日 也不 將這些話 告訴我們。」 | But his wife said unto him, If the Lord were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these. |
| 24 | 後來婦人 生了 一個兒子，給他起 名 叫 參孫。孩子 長大，耶和華 賜福與他。 | And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him. |
| 25 | 在瑪哈尼‧但，就是 瑣拉 和以實陶 中間，耶和華 的靈 才 感動他。 | And the Spirit of the Lord began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol. |
