| 11 | 「 我立 掃羅 為王，我後悔了；因為 他轉去 不跟從我，不 遵守 我的命令。」撒母耳 便甚憂愁，終 夜 哀求 耶和華。 | It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night. |
| 12 | 撒母耳 清早 起來，迎接 掃羅。有人告訴 撒母耳 說：「掃羅 到了 迦密，在那裡 立了 紀念碑，又轉 身 下 到吉甲。」 | And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. |

| 15 | 掃羅 說：「這是百姓 從亞瑪力人 那裡帶來的；因為 他們愛惜 上好的 牛 羊，要 獻 與耶和華─你的 神； 其餘的，我們都滅盡了。」 | And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. |
| 16 | 撒母耳 對 掃羅 說：「你住口吧！等我將 耶和華 昨夜 向我 所 說 的話告訴 你。」掃羅說：「請講。」 | Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the Lord hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on. |
| 17 | 撒母耳 對掃羅說：「從前你 雖然 以自己為 小， 豈不是 被立為以色列 支派 的元首嗎？耶和華 膏你 作 以色列 的王。 | And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? |
| 18 | 耶和華 差遣你，吩咐你說，你去 擊打 那些 犯罪的 亞瑪力人，將他們 滅絕 淨盡。 | And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed. |
| 19 | 你為何 沒有 聽從 耶和華 的命令，急忙 擄掠 財物，行 耶和華 眼中 看為惡的事呢？」 | Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the Lord? |
| 20 | 掃羅 對 撒母耳 說：「我實在 聽從了 耶和華 的命令，行了 耶和華 所 差遣我 行的路，擒了 亞瑪力 王 亞甲來，滅盡了 亞瑪力人。 | And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. |
| 21 | 百姓 卻在 所當滅的物中，取了 最好的 牛 羊，要在吉甲 獻 與耶和華─你的 神。」 | But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal. |
| 22 | 撒母耳 說：耶和華 喜悅 燔祭 和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從 他 的話呢？ 聽命 勝 於獻祭；順從 勝於公羊 的脂油。 | And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. |
| 23 | 悖逆 的罪與行邪術 的罪 相等；頑梗 的罪與拜虛神和偶像 的罪相同。你既 厭棄 耶和華 的命令，耶和華也厭棄你 作王。 | For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. |
| 24 | 掃羅 對 撒母耳 說：「我有罪了，我因 懼怕 百姓，聽從 他們的話，就 違背了 耶和華 的命令 和 你的言語。 | And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. |
| 25 | 現在 求 你赦免 我的罪，同我 回去，我好敬拜 耶和華。」 | Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord. |
| 26 | 撒母耳 對 掃羅 說：「我不 同你 回去；因為 你厭棄 耶和華 的命令，耶和華 也厭棄 你作 以色列 的王。」 | And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. |
| 27 | 撒母耳 轉身 要走，掃羅就扯住 他外袍 的衣襟，衣襟就撕斷了。 | And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. |
| 28 | 撒母耳 對他 說：「如此，今日 耶和華 使 以色列 國 與你 斷絕，將這國賜 與比你更 好的 人。 | And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou. |
| 29 | 以色列 的大能者 必不 致說謊，也不 致後悔；因為 他 迥非 世人，決不後悔。」 | And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent. |
| 30 | 掃羅說：「我有罪了，雖然如此，求 你在我百姓 的長老 和 以色列人 面前 抬舉我，同我 回去，我好敬拜 耶和華─你的 神。」 | Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord thy God. |
| 31 | 於是撒母耳 轉身 跟隨 掃羅回去，掃羅 就敬拜 耶和華。 | So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the Lord. |
| 32 | 撒母耳 說：「要把 亞瑪力 王 亞甲 帶 到我這裡來。」亞甲 就歡歡喜喜地 來 到他面前， 心裡說，死亡 的苦難 必定 過去了。 | Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past. |
| 33 | 撒母耳 說：「你既 用刀 使婦人 喪子，這樣，你母親 在婦人中 也必喪子。」於是，撒母耳 在吉甲 耶和華 面前 將 亞甲 殺死。 | And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal. |
| 34 | 撒母耳 回了 拉瑪。掃羅 上 他所住的基比亞，回 自己的 家去了。 | Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul. |
| 35 | 撒母耳 直到 死 的日子，再 沒有 見 掃羅；但 撒母耳 為 掃羅 悲傷，是因耶和華 後悔 立 他 為 以色列的王。 | And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel. |
