| 10 | 他們若 說：『你們上 到我們這裡來』，這話 就是我們的 證據；我們便上去，因為 耶和華 將他們交在 我們手裡了。」 | But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the Lord hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us. |
| 11 | 二人 就使 非利士 的防兵 看見。非利士人 說：「 希伯來人 從 所 藏 的 洞穴 裡出來了！」 | And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves. |

And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the Lord hath delivered them into the hand of Israel. |

| 15 | 於是在營中、在田野、在眾 民 內都有 戰兢，防兵 和掠兵 也 都 戰兢，地 也震動， 戰兢 之勢甚大。 | And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling. |
| 16 | 在便雅憫 的基比亞，掃羅的 守望兵 看見 非利士的軍眾 潰散，四圍亂 竄。 | And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another. |
| 17 | 掃羅就對 跟隨他 的民 說：「你們查點查點，看 從我們這裡 出去 的是誰？」他們一查點，就知道 約拿單 和拿 兵器 的人沒有在這裡。 | Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there. |
| 18 | 那 時 神 的約櫃 在 以色列 人那裡。掃羅 對亞希亞 說：「你將 神 的約櫃 運了來。」 | And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel. |
| 19 | 掃羅 正 與 祭司 說話的時候，非利士 營中 的 喧嚷 越發 大了；掃羅 就對 祭司 說：「停 手吧！」 | And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that was in the host of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand. |
| 20 | 掃羅 和 跟隨他 的人 都 聚集，來 到 戰場，看見 非利士人 用刀 互相擊殺，大大 惶亂。 | And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man’s sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture. |
| 21 | 從前 由四方 來 跟隨 非利士 軍 的希伯來人現在 也 轉過來，幫助 跟隨 掃羅 和約拿單的 以色列人了。 | Moreover the Hebrews that were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp from the country round about, even they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Jonathan. |
| 22 | 那藏在 以法蓮 山地 的以色列 人 聽說 非利士人 逃跑， 就 出來緊緊地 追殺他們。 | Likewise all the men of Israel which had hid themselves in mount Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle. |
| 23 | 那 日，耶和華 使 以色列人 得勝，一直戰 到伯‧亞文。 | So the Lord saved Israel that day: and the battle passed over unto Beth–aven. |
| 24 | 掃羅 叫 百姓 起誓 說，凡 不等到 晚上 向敵人 報完了仇 吃 甚麼 的，必受咒詛。因此這 日 百姓 沒有 吃 甚麼， 就極其困憊。 | And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food. |
| 25 | 眾 民 進 入樹林，見有 蜜 在 地 上。 | And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground. |
| 26 | 他們 進了 樹林，見 有蜜 流下來，卻沒有人 敢用手 取 蜜入 口，因為 他們 怕 那誓言。 | And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath. |
| 27 | 約拿單 沒有 聽見 他父親 叫 百姓 起誓，所以伸 手中 的杖，用 杖 頭 蘸 在蜂 房裡，轉 手 送入 口內，眼睛 就明亮了。 | But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened. |
| 28 | 百姓中 有一人 對他 說：「你父親 曾叫 百姓 嚴嚴地 起誓 說，今日 吃 甚麼 的， 必受咒詛；因此百姓 就疲乏了。」 | Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint. |
| 29 | 約拿單 說：「我父親 連累 你們了。你看， 我嘗了 這 一點 蜜，眼睛 就 明亮了。 | Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey. |
| 30 | 今日 百姓 若 任意 吃了 從仇敵 所 奪的 物， 擊殺的 非利士人 豈不 更 多嗎？」 | How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines? |
| 31 | 這 日，以色列人擊殺 非利士人，從密抹 直到亞雅崙。百姓 甚是 疲乏， | And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: and the people were very faint. |
| 32 | 就急忙 將 所奪的 牛 羊 和牛 犢 宰 於地上，肉還帶 血 就吃了。 | And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them on the ground: and the people did eat them with the blood. |
| 33 | 有人告訴 掃羅 說：「 百姓 吃 帶 血的肉，得罪 耶和華了。」掃羅說：「你們有罪了，今日 要將大 石頭 滾 到我這裡來。」 | Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the Lord, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day. |
| 34 | 掃羅 又說：「你們散 在百姓中，對他們 說，你們各人 將牛 羊 牽 到我 這裡 來宰了 吃，不可 吃 帶 血 的肉得罪 耶和華。」這夜， 百姓 就把 牛羊 牽 到那裡 宰了。 | And Saul said, Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them, Bring me hither every man his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and sin not against the Lord in eating with the blood. And all the people brought every man his ox with him that night, and slew them there. |
| 35 | 掃羅 為耶和華 築了 一座壇，這是他 初次 為耶和華 築 的壇。 | And Saul built an altar unto the Lord: the same was the first altar that he built unto the Lord. |
| 36 | 掃羅 說：「我們不如夜裡 下去 追趕 非利士人，搶掠 他們，直到 天 亮，不 留 他們 一人。」眾民說：「 你看 怎樣好 就去行吧！」祭司 說：「我們先 當親近 神。」 | And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God. |
| 37 | 掃羅 求問 神說：「我下去 追趕 非利士人可以不可以？你將他們交 在以色列 人手裡不交？」這 日 神 沒有 回答他。 | And Saul asked counsel of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel? But he answered him not that day. |
| 38 | 掃羅 說：「你們百姓 中的長老 都 上 這裡來，查 明 今日 是 誰 犯了罪。 | And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day. |
| 39 | 我指著救 以色列─永生的 耶和華起誓， 就是 我兒子 約拿單犯了罪， 他也必 死。」但百姓 中 無一人 回答他。 | For, as the Lord liveth, which saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the people that answered him. |
| 40 | 掃羅就對 以色列 眾人 說：「你們 站在 一 邊，我 與我兒子 約拿單 也站在 一 邊。」百姓 對 掃羅 說：「你看 怎樣好 就去行吧！」 | Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee. |
| 41 | 掃羅 禱告 耶和華─以色列的 神 說：「求你指示 實情。」於是掣籤掣出 掃羅 和約拿單來；百姓 盡都無事。 | Therefore Saul said unto the Lord God of Israel, Give a perfect lot. And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped. |
| 42 | 掃羅 說：「你們再掣籤，看是我，是 我兒子 約拿單」，就掣出 約拿單來。 | And Saul said, Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken. |
| 43 | 掃羅 對 約拿單 說：「你告訴 我，你做了 甚麼事？」約拿單 說：「我實在以手裡 的杖，用杖 頭 蘸了一點 蜜 嘗了 一嘗。 這樣我就死嗎（或譯：吧！）？」 | Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die. |
| 44 | 掃羅 說：「約拿單哪， 你定要 死！若不然，願 神 重重地 降罰與我。」 | And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan. |
| 45 | 百姓 對 掃羅 說：「約拿單 在以色列人中 這樣 大 行 拯救，豈可使他死呢？斷乎不可！我們指著永生的 耶和華起誓，連他的一根頭 髮 也不可 落 地，因為 他今 日 與 神 一同做事。」於是百姓 救 約拿單 免了 死亡。 | And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not. |
| 46 | 掃羅 回去，不追趕 非利士人；非利士人 也回 本地去了。 | Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: and the Philistines went to their own place. |
| 47 | 掃羅 執掌 以色列 的國權，常常攻擊 他四圍的 一切 仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫 人、以東人，和瑣巴 諸王，並非利士人。他無論 往 何處去，都打敗仇敵。 | So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them. |
| 48 | 掃羅奮勇 攻擊 亞瑪力人，救了 以色列人 脫離搶掠他們 之人的手。 | And he gathered an host, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them. |

| 50 | 掃羅 的妻 名 叫亞希暖，是亞希瑪斯 的女兒。掃羅的元帥 名 叫押尼珥，是尼珥 的兒子；尼珥是掃羅的 叔叔。 | And the name of Saul’s wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul’s uncle. |
