| 1 | 耶穌 又 用 比喻 對他們 說： | And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, |
| 2 | 「天 國 好比 一個 王 為他 兒子 擺設 娶親的筵席， | The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, |
| 3 | 就 打發 僕人去，請 那些被召的人 來赴 席，他們卻 不 肯 來。 | And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. |
| 4 | 王又 打發 別的 僕人，說：『你們告訴 那被召的人， 我的 筵席 已經預備好了， 牛 和 肥畜 已經宰了， 各樣 都齊備，請你們來 赴 席。』 | Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. |
| 5 | 那些人不理 就走了；一個 到 自己 田裡去； 一個 做買賣去； | But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: |
| 6 | 其餘的 拿住 僕人，凌辱他們， 把他們殺了。 | And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. |
| 7 | 王 就 大怒， 發 兵 除滅 那些 兇手， 燒燬 他們的 城。 | But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. |
| 8 | 於是 對 僕人 說：『 喜筵 已經 齊備，只是 所召的人 不 配。 | Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. |
| 9 | 所以 你們要往 岔路口 上去， 凡 遇見的，都召來 赴 席。』 | Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. |
| 10 | 那些 僕人 就出去，到 大路上，凡 遇見的，不論 善 惡 都 召聚了來， 筵席上 就坐滿了 客。 | So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. |
| 11 | 王 進來 觀看 賓客，見 那裡 有一個 沒有 穿 禮 服的， | And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: |
| 12 | 就 對他 說：『朋友，你到這裡 來 怎麼 不 穿 禮 服呢？』 那人無言可答。 | And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. |
| 13 | 於是 王 對使喚的人 說：『捆起 他的 手 腳來，把他 丟 在 外邊的 黑暗裡；在那裡 必要 哀哭 切 齒了。』 | Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
| 14 | 因為 被召 的人 多， 選上 的人少。」 | For many are called, but few are chosen. |
| 15 | 當時，法利賽人 出去 商議，怎樣 就著 耶穌的話 陷害 他， | Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk. |
| 16 | 就 打發 他們的 門徒 同 希律黨的人 去見耶穌，說：「夫子，我們知道 你是 誠實人，並且 誠誠實實 傳 神的 道， 甚麼人 你 都不 徇情面，因為 你不 看 人的 外貌。 | And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. |
| 17 | 請告訴 我們，你的 意見 如何？納 稅 給凱撒 可以 不可以？」 | Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Cesar, or not? |
| 18 | 耶穌 看出 他們的 惡意，就說：「假冒為善的人哪，為甚麼 試探 我？ | But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? |
| 19 | 拿一個上稅的 錢 給我 看！」他們就 拿 一個銀錢 來給他。 | Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. |
| 20 | 耶穌說：「這 像 和 這號 是誰的？」 | And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? |
| 21 | 他們說：「是凱撒的。」 耶穌說：「這樣，凱撒的 物 當歸 給凱撒； 神的 物當歸給 神。」 | They say unto him, Cesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cesar the things which are Cesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s. |
| 22 | 他們聽見 就希奇， 離開 他 走了。 | When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. |
| 23 | 撒都該人 常說 沒 有 復活的事。 那 天，他們來 問 耶穌 說： | The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, |
| 24 | 「夫子，摩西 說：『人 若 死了，沒 有 孩子，他 兄弟 當娶 他的 妻， 為 哥哥 生子 立後。』 | Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. |
| 25 | 從前，在 我們 這裡有 弟兄 七人， 第一個 娶了妻，死了， 沒 有 孩子，撇下 妻子 給 兄弟。 | Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: |
| 26 | 第二、 第三、直到 第七個，都 是如此。 | Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. |
| 27 | 末後，婦人 也死了。 | And last of all the woman died also. |
| 28 | 這樣，當 復活的時候，她是 七個 人中哪一個 的妻子呢？因為 他們都 娶過 她。」 | Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. |
| 29 | 耶穌 回答 說：「你們錯了；因為不 明白 聖經，也不曉得 神的 大能。 | Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. |
| 30 | 當 復活的時候，人也不 娶 也不 嫁，乃 像 天上 的使者一樣。 | For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. |
| 31 | 論到 死人 復活， 神 在經上向你們 所說的，你們沒有 念過嗎？ | But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, |
| 32 | 他說：『我 是 亞伯拉罕的 神， 以撒的 神， 雅各的 神。』 神不 是 死人的 神，乃是 活人的 神。」 | I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. |
| 33 | 眾人 聽見這話，就希奇 他的 教訓。 | And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. |
| 34 | 法利賽人 聽見 耶穌堵住了 撒都該人的口，他們就聚集。 | But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. |
| 35 | 內中 有一個 人是律法師，要試探 耶穌，就問他說： | Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, |
| 36 | 「夫子，律法 上 的誡命，哪一條 是最大的呢？」 | Master, which is the great commandment in the law? |
| 37 | 耶穌對他 說：「你要 盡 心、 盡 性、 盡 意 愛 主─你的 神。 | Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. |
| 38 | 這 是 誡命 中的第一，且 是最大的。 | This is the first and great commandment. |
| 39 | 其次 也 相 倣，就是要愛 人 如 己。 | And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
| 40 | 這 兩條 誡命 是律法 和 先知 一切 道理的總綱。」 | On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. |
| 41 | 法利賽人 聚集的時候，耶穌 問 他們 說： | While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, |
| 42 | 「論到 基督，你們的 意見 如何？他是 誰的 子孫呢？」他們回答說：「是大衛的子孫。」 | Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. |
| 43 | 耶穌說：「這樣，大衛 被 聖靈感動，怎麼 還稱 他 為主，說： | He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, |
| 44 | 主 對我 主 說：你坐 在 我的 右邊，等 我 把你 仇敵 放 在你的 腳下。 | The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? |
| 45 | 大衛 既 稱 他 為主，他怎麼 又是 大衛的 子孫呢？」 | If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? |
| 46 | 他們沒有一個人 能 回答 一言。從 那 日以後，也沒有 人 敢 再問 他 甚麼。 | And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions. |
