| 2 | 說：「文士 和 法利賽人 坐 在 摩西的 位上， | Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: |
| 3 | 凡 他們所吩咐 你們的，你們都要謹守 遵行。但 不 要 效法 他們的 行為；因為 他們能說， 不能 行。 | All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. |
| 4 | 他們把難擔的 重 擔 捆起來， 擱 在 人的 肩上，但 自己 一個 指頭 也不 肯 動。 | For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. |
| 5 | 他們 一切 所做 的事 都是要 叫人 看見，所以 將 佩戴的經文 做寬了， 衣裳的繸子 做長了， | But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, |

| 7 | 又 喜愛 人 在 街市 上問他安， 稱呼 他拉比（拉比就是夫子）。 | And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. |
| 8 | 但 你們 不要 受拉比 的稱呼，因為 只有一位 是 你們的 夫子； 你們 都 是 弟兄。 | But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. |
| 9 | 也 不要 稱呼 地 上 的人為 父，因為 只有一位 是 你們的 父，就是 在天上的父。 | And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. |
| 10 | 也不要 受師尊 的稱呼，因為 只有一位 是 你們的 師尊，就是基督。 | Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. |
| 11 | 你們 中間誰為大，誰就要作 你們的 用人。 | But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. |
| 12 | 凡 自 高的，必降為卑； 自 卑的，必升為高。 | And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. |
| 13 | 「 你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們正當人 前，把天 國 的門關了， 自己 不 進去，正要進去的人，你們也不 容 他們進去。（有古卷加： | But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. |
| 14 | 你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們侵吞 寡婦的 家產， 假意 做很長的 禱告，所以 要受 更重的 刑罰。） | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. |
| 15 | 「你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們走遍 洋海 陸地，勾引 一個 人入教， 既 入了教，卻使 他 作地獄 之子，比你們 還加倍。 | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. |
| 16 | 「你們 這瞎眼 領路的 有禍了！你們 說：『凡 指著 殿 起誓的，這算 不得甚麼；只是 凡 指著 殿中 金子 起誓的，他就該謹守。』 | Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! |
| 17 | 你們這無知 瞎眼的人哪， 甚麼 是 大的？是金子呢？還是 叫金子 成聖 的殿呢？ | Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? |
| 18 | 你們又說：『凡 指著 壇 起誓的，這算 不得甚麼；只是 凡 指著 壇 上 禮物 起誓的，他就該謹守。』 | And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. |
| 19 | 你們這瞎眼的人哪， 甚麼 是大的？是禮物呢？還是 叫禮物 成聖 的壇呢？ | Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? |
| 20 | 所以，人指著 壇 起誓，就是指著 壇 和 壇 上 一切 所有的起誓； | Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. |
| 21 | 人指著 殿 起誓，就是指著 殿 和 那住 在殿 裡的起誓； | And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. |
| 22 | 人指著 天 起誓，就是指著 神的 寶座 和 那坐 在 上面 的起誓。 | And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. |
| 23 | 「你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們將薄荷、 茴香、 芹菜，獻上十分之一， 那律法 上更重的事，就是公義、 憐憫、 信實，反倒不行了。 這 更重的是你們當 行的；那也是 不可 不行的。 | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. |
| 24 | 你們這瞎眼 領路的，蠓蟲 你們就濾出來，駱駝 你們倒 吞下去。 | Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. |
| 25 | 「你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們洗淨 杯 盤 的外面，裡面 卻 盛滿了 勒索 和 放蕩。 | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. |
| 26 | 你這瞎眼的 法利賽人，先 洗淨 杯 盤的裡面，好叫 外面 也 乾淨了。 | Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. |
| 27 | 「你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們好像 粉飾的 墳墓， 外面 好 看，裡面 卻 裝滿了 死人的 骨頭 和 一切的 污穢。 | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. |
| 28 | 你們 也是 如此，在人前，外面 顯出 公義來，裡面 卻 裝滿了 假善 和 不法的事。 | Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. |
| 29 | 「你們 這假冒為善的 文士 和 法利賽人 有禍了！因為 你們建造 先知 的墳， 修飾 義人 的墓，說： | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, |
| 30 | 『若 是 我們在 我們 祖宗 的時候， 必 不 和他們 同 流 先知的 血。』 | And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. |
| 31 | 這就是 你們自己 證明 是 殺害 先知 者的子孫了。 | Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. |
| 32 | 你們 去充滿 你們 祖宗 的惡貫吧！ | Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. |
| 33 | 你們這些蛇類、毒蛇之 種啊，怎能 逃 脫 地獄的 刑罰呢？ | Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? |
| 34 | 所以 我 差遣 先知 和 智慧人 並 文士 到 你們這裡來， 有的 你們要殺害， 要釘十字架； 有的 你們 要在 會堂 裡鞭打， 從 這城 追逼 到 那城， | Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: |
| 35 | 叫 世 上 所流 義人 的血 都 歸 到 你們身上，從 義人 亞伯 的血起，直到 你們在殿 和 壇 中間 所 殺 的巴拉加 的兒子 撒迦利亞 的血為止。 | That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. |
| 36 | 我實在 告訴 你們，這 一切的 罪都要歸 到 這 世代了。」 | Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. |
| 37 | 「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害 先知，又 用石頭打死 那奉差遣 到 你這裡來的人。我多次 願意 聚集 你的 兒女，好像 母雞 把小雞 聚集 在 翅膀底下，只是 你們不 願意。 | O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! |
| 38 | 看哪，你們的 家 成為荒場 留給 你們。 | Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. |
| 39 | 我告訴 你們，從 今以後，你們不得 再見 我，直等到 你們 說：『奉 主 名 來 的是應當稱頌的。』」 | For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. |
