1 那時，有法利賽人 和 文士 從 耶路撒冷 來 見耶穌，說： Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 「你的 門徒 為甚麼 犯 古人 的遺傳呢？因為 吃 飯 的時候，他們不 洗 手。」 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 耶穌回答 說：「你們 為甚麼 因著 你們的 遺傳 犯 神 的誡命呢？ But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4 神 說：『當孝敬 父 母』；又說：『咒罵 父 母的，必治 死他。』 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
5 你們 倒 說：『無論 何人 對父 母 說： 我 所當奉給 你的 已經作了供獻， But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
6 他就可以不 孝敬 父母。』這就是 你們 藉著 遺傳，廢了 神的 誡命。 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
7 假冒為善的人哪，以賽亞 指著 你們 說的預言 是不錯的。他說： Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 這 百姓 用嘴唇 尊敬 我， 心 卻 遠 離 我； This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 他們將人的 吩咐 當作道理 教導人，所以 拜 我 也是枉然。」 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 耶穌就 叫了 眾人來，對他們 說：「你們要聽，也要 明白。 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 入 口 的不能 污穢 人， 出 口 的 乃能污穢 人。」 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 當時，門徒 進前來 對他 說：「 法利賽人 聽見 這話，不服（原文是跌倒），你知道嗎？」 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
13 耶穌回答 說：「凡 栽種的物， 若不是 我 天 父 栽種的，必要拔出來。 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 任憑 他們吧！他們是 瞎眼 領路的； 若是 瞎子 領 瞎子，兩個人 都要掉 在 坑裡。」 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
15 彼得 對耶穌 說：「請將這 比喻 講 給我們聽。」 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
16 耶穌說：「你們 到如今 還 不明白嗎？ And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17 豈不 知 凡 入 口的，是運 到 肚子裡，又 落 在 茅廁裡嗎？ Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 惟獨 出 口的，是從 心裡 發出來的，這 才污穢 人。 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 因為 從 心裡 發出來的，有惡 念、凶殺、姦淫、苟合、偷盜、妄證、謗讟。 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 這 都是 污穢 人的；至於 不洗 手 吃飯，那卻不 污穢 人。」 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
21 耶穌 離開 那裡，退 到 泰爾、 西頓 的境內去。 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 有一個迦南 婦人，從 那 地方 出來，喊著 說：「主啊，大衛的 子孫，可憐 我！我 女兒 被鬼附 得甚苦。」 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 耶穌卻 一言 不 答。 門徒 進前來，求 他 說：「 這婦人在我們 後頭 喊叫，請打發她 走吧。」 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 耶穌說：「我奉差遣 不 過是 到 以色列 家 迷失的 羊那裡去。」 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 那婦人來 拜 他，說：「主啊，幫助 我！」 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 他回答 說：「 不 好 拿 兒女的 餅 丟 給狗吃。」 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 婦人說：「主啊，不錯；但是 狗 也 吃 牠 主人 桌子 上 掉下來 的碎渣兒。」 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 耶穌 說：「婦人，你的 信心 是大的！照 你所要的，給你 成全了吧。」從 那 時候，她 女兒 就 好了。 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29 耶穌 離開 那地方，來到 靠近 加利利 的海邊，就 上 山 坐下。 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30 有許多 人 到 他那裡，帶著 瘸子、瞎子、啞巴、有殘疾的，和 好些 別的病人， 都放 在 他 腳前；他就 治好了 他們。 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
31 甚至 眾人 都希奇；因為看見 啞巴 說話，殘疾的 痊癒， 瘸子 行走， 瞎子 看見， 他們就歸榮耀 給以色列的 神。 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 耶穌 叫 門徒來，說：「我憐憫 這眾人；因為 他們同我 在 這裡已經 三 天，也 沒 有 吃 的了。 我不 願意 叫他們 餓著 回去，恐怕 在 路上 困乏。」 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
33 門徒 說：「我們 在 這野地，哪裡 有這麼多的 餅 叫 這許多 人 吃飽呢？」 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
34 耶穌 說：「你們有 多少 餅？」 他們說：「有七個，還有 幾條 小魚。」 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
35 他就 吩咐 眾人 坐 在 地上， And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36 拿著 這七個 餅 和 幾條魚，祝謝了，擘開， 遞給 門徒；門徒 又 遞給眾人。 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 眾人都 吃，並且 吃飽了， 收拾 剩下的 零碎，裝滿了 七個 筐子。 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
38 吃的人，除了 婦女 孩子，共有 四千。 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
39 耶穌叫眾人 散去，就上 船， 來 到 馬加丹 的境界。 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
