| 1 | 以色列爲孩提時、我愛之、召我子出自埃及、 | When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. |
| 2 | 先知召之愈殷、彼則離之愈遠、獻祭於巴力、焚香於雕像、 | As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images. |
| 3 | 我教以法蓮行走、抱之以臂、我嘗醫之、而彼不知、 | I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them. |
| 4 | 我以仁愛之繩、慈惠之索引之、弛軛在其頰、置糧於其前、 | I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. |
| 5 | 彼必不返埃及、因其不肯回轉、亞述必爲其王、 | He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return. |
| 6 | 鋒刃必揮於其城、毀其關楗、因其計謀而滅之、 | And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels. |
| 7 | 我民決志違離我、雖有召之向上、興者迄無一人、 | And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him. |
| 8 | 以法蓮歟、我焉能舍爾、以色列歟、我焉能棄爾、焉能使爾若押瑪、置爾如洗扁、我回厥志、慈心熾發、 | How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. |
| 9 | 不發我烈怒、不滅以法蓮、我乃上帝、非爲世人、乃爾中之聖者、不以忿恚臨爾、 | I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. |
| 10 | 耶和華若咆哮之獅、民皆從之、旣已咆哮、諸子疾馳、自西而至、 | They shall walk after the Lord: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west. |
| 11 | 彼之疾馳、若鳥至自埃及、如鴿來自亞述、我將使之安居厥室、耶和華言之矣、○ | They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the Lord. |
| 12 | 以法蓮以欺誑環我、以色列家以詭譎繞我、猶大對於上帝、卽信實之聖者、則貳其心、 | Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints. |
