| 1 | 以法蓮餐風、追隨東風、妄誕殘暴日增、且與亞述結盟、貢油於埃及、 | Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt. |
| 2 | 耶和華與猶大有爭辯、必循雅各所行而懲之、依其所爲而報之、 | The Lord hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. |
| 3 | 昔雅各在母胎中、執兄之踵、壯年之時、與上帝角力、 | He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God: |
| 4 | 與使者角力而獲勝、哭泣懇求之、上帝遇之於伯特利、在彼與我儕言、 | Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Beth–el, and there he spake with us; |
| 5 | 彼乃萬軍之上帝耶和華、耶和華乃其誌名也、 | Even the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial. |
| 6 | 爾其歸爾上帝、謹守仁義、恆望爾上帝、○ | Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually. |
| 7 | 彼爲迦南人、手執欺誑之衡、以勒索爲悅、 | He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress. |
| 8 | 以法蓮自謂、我誠富有、已得貨財、凡我勞而獲者、人不得見我有不義、可視爲罪、 | And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin. |
| 9 | 我自爾出埃及時、爲爾上帝耶和華、必使爾復居於幕、如大會之日然、 | And I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast. |
| 10 | 我曾諭諸先知、增加異象、藉先知以設譬、 | I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets. |
| 11 | 基列無罪乎、盡爲虛妄、在吉甲獻牡牛爲祭、其壇將如隴畝之石壘、 | Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. |
| 12 | 昔雅各遁至亞蘭、以色列爲得妻而服役、爲得婦而牧羊、 | And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep. |
| 13 | 耶和華藉先知導以色列出埃及、亦藉先知保存之、 | And by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. |
| 14 | 以法蓮干怒特甚、故其所流人血、留於其身、所加其主之辱、其主必反之、 | Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him. |
