| 1 | 七月二十一日、耶和華藉先知哈該諭曰、 | In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai, saying, |
| 2 | 爾其告撒拉鐵子猶大方伯所羅巴伯、約撒答子大祭司約書亞、及諸遺民曰、 | Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, |
| 3 | 爾中曾見此室昔時之榮者、有誰尚存、今爾視之、爲何如耶、在爾目中、非若無有乎、 | Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? |
| 4 | 耶和華曰、所羅巴伯歟、其強乃心、約撒答子大祭司約書亞歟、其強乃心、耶和華又曰、斯土衆民歟、其強乃心、興工操作、蓋我偕爾、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts: |
| 5 | 依爾出埃及時、我與爾約之言、我神寓於爾中、爾勿畏懼、 | According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. |
| 6 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、再延片時、我將震動天地海陸、 | For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; |
| 7 | 亦將震動萬邦、萬邦所愉悅者將至、我必以榮光充斯室、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 8 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、銀爲我有、金亦我有、 | The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 9 | 此室其後之榮、較前尤大、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 10 | 我將錫平康於斯土、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、○ | In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, |
| 11 | 大利烏二年九月二十四日、耶和華藉先知哈該諭曰、 | Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, |
| 12 | 萬軍之耶和華云、問法律於祭司曰、 | If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. |
| 13 | 設有人以衣襟裹聖肉、其襟觸餅羹酒油、及他食物、則是物成爲聖乎、祭司僉曰、否、 | Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. |
| 14 | 哈該曰、設有人以捫尸而蒙不潔、觸此諸物、則是物成爲不潔乎、祭司僉曰、必爲不潔、 | Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. |
| 15 | 哈該曰、耶和華云、斯民斯族於我前亦若是、其手所作之工、及所獻之物、皆爲不潔、 | And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord: |
| 16 | 請爾追思、此日以前、耶和華之殿、未疊石於石上之先、 | Since those days were, when one came to an heap of twenty measures, there were but ten: when one came to the pressfat for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were but twenty. |
| 17 | 歷時如是之久、人至穀堆、冀得二十、僅得其十、人至酒油、望得五十、僅得二十、 | I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the labours of your hands; yet ye turned not to me, saith the Lord. |
| 18 | 耶和華曰、我以暴風毒黴大雹、擊爾於爾手之工作、而爾猶不歸我、 | Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider it. |
| 19 | 請爾追思、此日以前、卽自九月二十四日、立耶和華殿基時、爾其念之、 | Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you. |
| 20 | 倉廩尚有穀種乎、葡萄、無花果、石榴、橄欖諸樹、俱未結實、自今以後、我必錫嘏於爾、○ | And again the word of the Lord came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, |
| 21 | 是月二十四日、耶和華復諭哈該曰、告猶大方伯所羅巴伯云、我必震動天地、 | Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; |
| 22 | 傾列邦之座位、滅萬民諸國之勢力、覆其車與駕之者、馬與乘之者、俱仆於昆弟之刃、 | And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. |
| 23 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、我僕撒拉鐵子所羅巴伯歟、我已簡爾、是日我必視爾爲印、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a signet: for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts. |
