| 1 | 雅各召諸子曰、爾其會集、我以日後所遇之事告爾、 | And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. |
| 2 | 雅各諸子咸集以聽、從爾父以色列言、 | Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. |
| 3 | 流便歟、爾乃吾之冢子、吾之能力、我強健時、所首生者、厥榮及權、超越於衆、 | Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: |
| 4 | 惟爾如水之沸、故不卓犖、緣登父牀、而汚我榻、 | Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. |
| 5 | 西緬利未、乃兄弟也、所用之刃、是爲兇器、 | Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. |
| 6 | 我心不與同謀、我靈不與共會、蓋其乘怒而戕人命、縱欲而斷牛筋、 | O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. |
| 7 | 厥怒烈可呪、厥氣暴可詛、我必分之於雅各家、散之於以色列族、 | Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. |
| 8 | 維汝猶大、兄弟頌揚、爾父之子、伏拜爾前、爾手扼敵之頸、 | Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee. |
| 9 | 吾子猶大、猛如稚獅、食其所攫而去、臥如牡獅、蹲如牝獅、孰敢攖之、 | Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? |
| 10 | 厥梃不離猶大、秉鈞者之杖、弗去其足間、迨細羅至、民咸歸之、 | The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. |
| 11 | 縶驢於葡萄樹、維小驢於葡萄樹之佳者、以酒澣衣、以葡萄汁濯服、 | Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: |
| 12 | 厥目緣酒而赤、厥齒緣乳而白、 | His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. |
| 13 | 西布倫將居海濱、爲泊舟之所、界延西頓、 | Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. |
| 14 | 以薩迦如健驢、臥於羊牢、 | Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: |
| 15 | 視安靜爲可嘉、見土壤之甚美、鞠躬而負荷、作苦以服役、 | And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute. |
| 16 | 但爲以色列支派之一、將治其民、 | Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. |
| 17 | 但爲道上之蛇、途間之蝮、以傷馬足、而墜騎者、 | Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. |
| 18 | 耶和華歟、爾之拯救、我所企望、 | I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord. |
| 19 | 迦得爲軍所逼、反迫其後、 | Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last. |
| 20 | 亞設所產食物、乃爲肥甘、必出珍饈、爲王所用、 | Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties. |
| 21 | 拿弗他利如釋放之麀鹿、陳述嘉言、 | Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words. |
| 22 | 約瑟如結實之樹枝、在於泉旁、其條蔓延踰垣、 | Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: |
| 23 | 矢人虐遇之、射傷之、窘迫之、 | The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: |
| 24 | 然其弓堅勁、其臂健捷、惟賴雅各全能之主、其爲牧者、以色列之磐石、由之而出、 | But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) |
| 25 | 彼爲爾父之上帝、必輔助爾、全能之主、必錫嘏爾、賜以上天之祜、源泉之澤、產育乳哺之福、 | Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: |
| 26 | 汝父所祝之嘏、愈於吾祖所祝之嘏、如岡陵之恆久、如山嶽之高大、悉歸約瑟之首、臨乎冠昆弟者之頂、 | The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. |
| 27 | 便雅憫如攫物之狼、朝吞所獲、夕分所奪、○ | Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil. |
| 28 | 此乃以色列十二支派、其父爲之祝嘏而言、各依其所應得者、 | All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them. |
| 29 | 復命之曰、我將歸於列祖、當葬我於吾祖父之側、在赫人以弗崙田之穴、 | And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, |
| 30 | 卽迦南境、與幔利相對、麥比拉田之穴、昔亞伯拉罕自赫人以弗崙、所購爲業之塚地、 | In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. |
| 31 | 曩於斯處、葬亞伯拉罕及其妻撒拉、亦葬以撒及其妻利百加、我亦葬利亞、 | There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah. |
| 32 | 其田與穴、購自赫人、 | The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth. |
| 33 | 雅各命衆子畢、斂足於牀、氣絕而終、歸於列祖、 | And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people. |
