| 1 | 亞伯蘭年九十有九、耶和華顯見、諭之曰、我乃全能之上帝、爾宜行於我前、而爲完人、 | And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. |
| 2 | 我與爾約、使爾苗裔、繁衍昌熾、 | And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. |
| 3 | 亞伯蘭遂俯伏焉、上帝與之言曰、 | And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, |
| 4 | 我與爾約、爾必爲多族之父、 | As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. |
| 5 | 今而後、爾不復名亞伯蘭、宜名亞伯拉罕、因我立爾爲多族之父也、 | Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. |
| 6 | 我將使爾蕃息、成爲邦國、列王由爾而出、 | And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. |
| 7 | 我必與爾及爾歷世苗裔、立我永約、爲爾及爾苗裔之上帝、 | And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. |
| 8 | 爾今所旅之地、卽迦南全境、我將賜爾、及爾苗裔、以爲永業、我亦爲其上帝、○ | And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. |
| 9 | 上帝諭亞伯拉罕曰、爾與後裔、宜守我約、歷世勿替、 | And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. |
| 10 | 爾中男子、咸宜受割、卽我賜爾及爾後裔、所必守之約、 | This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. |
| 11 | 爾必受割、爲我與爾立約之徵、 | And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. |
| 12 | 爾歷世男子、或生於爾家、或購自異邦、非爾苗裔、旣生八日、皆必受割、 | And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. |
| 13 | 家所生者、金所購者、俱必受割、我約加於爾躬、以爲永約、 | He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. |
| 14 | 惟男子不受割者、是背我約、必絕之民中、○ | And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant. |
| 15 | 上帝諭亞伯拉罕曰、爾妻不復稱撒萊、宜稱撒拉、 | And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. |
| 16 | 我必祝之、賜之生子、復錫以嘏、使爲列國之母、列王由之而出、 | And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. |
| 17 | 亞伯拉罕俯伏而哂、竊謂百歲之人、猶能生子乎、撒拉年九十、猶能生育乎、 | Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? |
| 18 | 乃對上帝曰、惟願以實瑪利生存於爾前、 | And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! |
| 19 | 上帝曰、否、爾妻撒拉必生子、可名以撒、我將與彼立約、爲其後裔之永約、 | And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. |
| 20 | 至以實瑪利、我亦允爾、賜之以福、使之蕃息、其裔繁衍昌熾、必出十二牧伯、成爲大族、 | And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. |
| 21 | 惟我與以撒立約、卽明年此時、撒拉所生者、 | But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. |
| 22 | 上帝言竟、離亞伯拉罕而上升、○ | And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham. |
| 23 | 是日亞伯拉罕遵上帝命、將其子以實瑪利、曁家所生、金所購之男子、咸與行割、 | And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him. |
| 24 | 亞伯拉罕受割時、年九十有九、 | And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. |
| 25 | 其子以實瑪利、十有三歲受割、 | And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. |
| 26 | 父子二人、同日受割、 | In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son. |
| 27 | 凡其所屬、或生於家、或購自異邦、均受割焉、 | And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him. |
