1 維時、示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亞畧、以攔王基大老瑪、戈印王提達、 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;
2 與所多瑪王比拉、蛾摩拉王比沙、押瑪王示納、洗扁王善以別、及比拉卽瑣珥王戰、 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.
3 五王咸會於西訂谷、卽今之鹽海、 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.
4 此五王事基大老瑪、歷十有二年、至十三年而叛、 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5 十四年、基大老瑪與同盟諸王來、擊利乏音族於亞特律加甯、蘇西族於哈麥、以米族於沙微基列亭、 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
6 又擊何利族於西珥山、至鄰於曠野之伊勒巴蘭、 And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto El–paran, which is by the wilderness.
7 四王歸至安密巴、卽加低斯、擊亞瑪力之全境、及居哈洗遜他瑪之亞摩利族、 And they returned, and came to En–mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezon–tamar.
8 所多瑪王、蛾摩拉王、押瑪王、洗扁王、比拉卽瑣珥王、皆出、陳於西訂谷、 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim;
9 以敵以攔王基大老瑪、戈印王提達、示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亞畧、四王與五王戰、 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five.
10 西訂谷多石漆坑、所多瑪王與蛾摩拉王奔而陷其中、餘遁於山、 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain.
11 四王奪所多瑪蛾摩拉之輜重糧食而去、 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.
12 亞伯蘭姪羅得居所多瑪、人與物皆被虜、○ And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
13 有逃遁者、以告希伯來人亞伯蘭、時、亞伯蘭居近亞摩利人幔利之橡、幔利乃以實各亞乃之兄弟、此三人曾與亞伯蘭結盟、 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.
14 亞伯蘭聞姪被虜、遂率習練之丁壯、素育於家者、三百一十八人、追敵至但、 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
15 乘夜分隊進攻、追至大馬色北之何把、 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
16 奪回所虜之物、曁姪羅得、與其所有、爰及人民婦女、○ And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17 亞伯蘭旣戮基大老瑪與同盟諸王而歸、所多瑪王出、至沙微谷、卽今之王谷以迎之、 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
18 撒冷王麥基洗德、爲至高上帝之祭司、攜餅與酒而出、 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 祝之曰、願天地之主宰、至高之上帝、錫嘏於亞伯蘭、 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20 至高上帝、以敵付於爾手、宜頌美焉、亞伯蘭以其所獲者、什一奉之、 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
21 所多瑪王謂亞伯蘭曰、以人歸我、物任爾取、 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
22 亞伯蘭曰、我已舉手、指至高之上帝、天地之主宰耶和華而誓、 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
23 凡屬爾者、一絲縷、一履帶、吾弗取焉、免爾云、我使亞伯蘭致富、 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
24 惟少者所食、曁同行之亞乃、以實各、幔利、所應得者、可任其取之、 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
