| 1 | 亞伯蘭挈妻與羅得、及凡所有、出埃及而南往、 | And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. |
| 2 | 富有金銀牲畜、 | And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. |
| 3 | 自南而行、歷程至伯特利、昔張幕之所、在伯特利與艾之間、 | And he went on his journeys from the south even to Beth–el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth–el and Hai; |
| 4 | 卽前築壇之處、於彼籲耶和華名、 | Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. |
| 5 | 偕行之羅得、亦有牛羊帷幕、 | And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. |
| 6 | 二人之業浩繁、其地莫能容、弗獲同處、 | And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. |
| 7 | 時、迦南與比利洗二族、猶居斯土、亞伯蘭之牧者、與羅得之牧者爭、 | And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. |
| 8 | 亞伯蘭謂羅得曰、爾我乃骨肉之親、不可相爭、爾牧我牧、何競之有、 | And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. |
| 9 | 地非具在爾前乎、爾其與我區別、爾左則我右、爾右則我左、 | Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. |
| 10 | 時、所多瑪蛾摩拉、未爲耶和華所滅、自約但平原、至於瑣珥、土皆潤澤、如耶和華囿、與埃及地等、 | And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. |
| 11 | 羅得舉目觀之、遂擇約但平原而東徙、二人相別、 | Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. |
| 12 | 亞伯蘭居迦南地、羅得寓平原之邑、遷徙其幕、至所多瑪、 | Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. |
| 13 | 所多瑪人作惡、重獲罪於耶和華、○ | But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly. |
| 14 | 羅得別後、耶和華諭亞伯蘭曰、爾其由此舉目、以觀東西南北、 | And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: |
| 15 | 凡所見之地、我必賜爾、及爾苗裔、永世弗替、 | For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. |
| 16 | 使爾苗裔如塵埃然、有能核塵埃之數者、則爾苗裔、亦可計矣、 | And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. |
| 17 | 爾起遍歷斯土、縱橫而行、我必以之賜爾、 | Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. |
| 18 | 亞伯蘭遂遷幕、至希伯崙、近幔利之橡而居、爲耶和華築壇焉、 | Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord. |
