| 1 | 拿瑪人瑣法曰、 | Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said, |
| 2 | 我衷懷激烈、我心思迫我、 | Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste. |
| 3 | 旣聞譴責、令我蒙羞、我之慧心相應、 | I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer. |
| 4 | 爾豈不知伊古以來、置人於世、 | Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, |
| 5 | 作惡者誇勝不長久、不虔者喜樂祇俄頃、 | That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? |
| 6 | 其尊雖薄天、其首雖及雲、 | Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; |
| 7 | 終必永亡、同於己糞、素見之者、將曰其人安在、 | Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he? |
| 8 | 彼必飛逝如夢、尋之不得、被逐若夜間之異象、 | He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night. |
| 9 | 見之之日、不再見之、其所不復覩之、 | The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him. |
| 10 | 其子必丐恩於貧者、所得之財、手自償之、 | His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods. |
| 11 | 其骨壯如青年、必與之同臥於土、 | His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust. |
| 12 | 邪慝雖甘於口中、藏於舌底、 | Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue; |
| 13 | 愛戀不舍、久含於口、 | Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth: |
| 14 | 其食至腹則變、成爲虺膽於中、 | Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him. |
| 15 | 彼吞貨財、必吐之、上帝使之出於其腹、 | He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly. |
| 16 | 必吸虺之毒、蝮舌必殺之、 | He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him. |
| 17 | 流蜜與乳之河、彼不得見、 | He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter. |
| 18 | 勞力所獲、必償還之、不得吞之、所獲之財、不得因之而樂、 | That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein. |
| 19 | 蓋彼虐遇貧民、而遺棄之、強據第宅、不得建立、 | Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not; |
| 20 | 以其中心無厭、故所悅者、無一存留、 | Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired. |
| 21 | 所遺無不吞噬、故其昌盛弗久、 | There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods. |
| 22 | 當富有充裕時、必遭艱窘、困苦之人、咸加手於其身、 | In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him. |
| 23 | 彼將果腹、上帝降以烈怒、食時雨於厥躬、 | When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating. |
| 24 | 逃避鐵器、銅弓發矢穿之、 | He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through. |
| 25 | 自拔而出之、光明之鏃、離乎其膽、而威烈臨焉、 | It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him. |
| 26 | 凡諸幽暗、爲其財寶而集、非人所燃之火、必焚其身、滅其幕中所遺、 | All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle. |
| 27 | 天必彰其罪、地起而攻之、 | The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him. |
| 28 | 其家產過而不留、消亡於上帝震怒之日、 | The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath. |
| 29 | 此乃惡人由上帝所得之分、上帝爲彼所定之業、 | This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God. |
