| 1 | 猶大王約西亞子約雅敬四年、卽巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒元年、耶利米所得論猶大民之言、 | The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; |
| 2 | 先知耶利米告猶大衆、曁耶路撒冷居民曰、 | The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, |
| 3 | 自猶大王亞們子約西亞十三年、迄今歷二十三年、耶和華以言諭我、我傳於爾、夙興而道、惟爾弗聽、 | From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened. |
| 4 | 耶和華亦遣其僕諸先知至爾、夙興遣之、惟爾不從、不側耳以聽、 | And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. |
| 5 | 彼曰、當各轉離邪途惡行、居於耶和華錫爾及爾祖之地、自昔迄於永久、 | They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever: |
| 6 | 勿往從他神、服事崇拜之、勿以爾手所作之物、激我震怒、我則不降災於爾、 | And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt. |
| 7 | 耶和華曰、爾不我聽、而以爾手所作之物、激我震怒、自罹災害、 | Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. |
| 8 | 故萬軍之耶和華曰、因爾弗聽我言、 | Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words, |
| 9 | 我必遣召北方諸族、及我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、導之以攻斯土、與其居民、曁四周諸國、我必滅之、使之令人駭異、爲人嗤笑、永久荒蕪、耶和華言之矣、 | Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. |
| 10 | 且我必於其中、絕其歡欣喜樂之聲、新娶者及新婦之聲、旋磨之音、燈火之光、 | Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. |
| 11 | 斯土必盡荒蕪、令人駭異、維此諸國、將服事巴比倫王、歷七十年、 | And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. |
| 12 | 七十年旣竟、我必罰巴比倫王與其國、及迦勒底人之地、使之永久荒蕪、以治其罪、耶和華言之矣、 | And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations. |
| 13 | 凡我所言、錄於此書、卽耶利米論列邦所預言者、必臨於其國、 | And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations. |
| 14 | 蓋有多國大王、必使其人服役、我必依其所行、及其手所作以報之、○ | For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands. |
| 15 | 以色列之上帝耶和華諭我曰、我手忿怒之杯、爾其取之、使我遣爾所至之國飲之、 | For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. |
| 16 | 彼必飲之、搖曳顚狂、因我使鋒刃入於其中也、 | And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. |
| 17 | 我則由耶和華手取杯、使其遣我所至之國飲之、 | Then took I the cup at the Lord’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the Lord had sent me: |
| 18 | 卽耶路撒冷、猶大諸邑、及其君王牧伯、俾邑荒蕪、令人駭異、被嗤笑、服呪詛、有如今日、 | To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day; |
| 19 | 又有埃及王法老、與其臣僕、牧伯庶民、 | Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people; |
| 20 | 雜族之人、烏斯諸王、非利士諸王、亞實基倫、迦薩、以革倫、及亞實突遺民、 | And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod, |
| 21 | 以東、摩押、亞捫族、 | Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon, |
| 22 | 推羅諸王、西頓諸王、海外島嶼諸王、 | And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea, |
| 23 | 底但、提瑪、布斯、及凡薙鬢者、 | Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners, |
| 24 | 亞拉伯諸王、與居曠野、雜族之諸王、 | And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert, |
| 25 | 心利諸王、以攔諸王、瑪代諸王、 | And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes, |
| 26 | 北方遠近諸王、爰及天下萬國、厥後、示沙克王亦飲焉、 | And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them. |
| 27 | 爾當告之曰、萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、爾其飲之而醉、至於哇吐、顚躓而不復起、因我使鋒刃入於爾中也、 | Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. |
| 28 | 如彼不欲自爾手取杯飲之、則當告之曰、萬軍之耶和華云、爾必飲之、 | And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. |
| 29 | 蓋我降災、始於我寄名之邑、爾豈能盡免刑罰乎、必不免也、我必使鋒刃臨於地上居民、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、 | For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 30 | 故當以此諸言、對衆預言之曰、耶和華必自上號呼、自聖所發聲、向其羣羊大呼、對地上居民而呼、若踐葡萄者然、 | Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. |
| 31 | 將有聲聞於地極、蓋耶和華與列邦爭、必鞫凡有血氣者、至於惡人、付之鋒刃、耶和華言之矣、○ | A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord. |
| 32 | 萬軍之耶和華曰、災害必自此國、至於彼國、狂風起於地極、 | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. |
| 33 | 是日也、耶和華所戮者、自天之涯、迄地之極、無人哀哭、無人收殮、不得瘞埋、必在地上、成爲糞土、 | And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. |
| 34 | 牧者歟、爾其號咷哭泣、羣羊之長歟、爾其輾轉於灰塵、蓋爾被戮之日、離散之期已屆、爾必隕越、有如珍器墮毀、 | Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. |
| 35 | 牧者無由遁逃、羣羊之長無由避匿、 | And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape. |
| 36 | 牧者發聲、羣羊之長號咷、以耶和華荒其牧場也、 | A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the Lord hath spoiled their pasture. |
| 37 | 因耶和華烈怒、平安之羊牢、成爲寂寞、 | And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the Lord. |
| 38 | 維彼若獅、旣出其所、因暴烈之力、及酷烈之怒、其地成爲怪異、 | He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger. |
