| 1 | 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、虜猶大王約雅敬子耶哥尼雅、及猶大牧伯、與藝匠鐵工、自耶路撒冷至巴比倫後、耶和華以無花果二筐示我、置於耶和華殿前、 | The Lord shewed me, and, behold, two baskets of figs were set before the temple of the Lord, after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, and the princes of Judah, with the carpenters and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. |
| 2 | 一筐之無花果甚嘉、如初實者、一筐之無花果甚劣、不可食也、 | One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad. |
| 3 | 耶和華諭我曰、耶利米、爾何所見、我曰、見無花果、其嘉者甚嘉、其劣者甚劣、不可食也、 | Then said the Lord unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. |

| 5 | 以色列之上帝耶和華云、猶大之俘囚、卽我遣至迦勒底人之地者、我必視之若此嘉果、使之獲益、 | Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good. |
| 6 | 我必顧之益之、導歸斯土、我必建之、不復毀之、我必植之、不復拔之、 | For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. |
| 7 | 賦以識我之心、俾知我乃耶和華、一心歸我、彼爲我民、我爲其上帝、 | And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart. |
| 8 | 至於無花果之劣而不可食者、耶和華曰、此若猶大王西底家、與其牧伯、及耶路撒冷遺民、居於斯土之衆、與旅於埃及者、 | And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the Lord, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt: |
| 9 | 我必付之於敵、播散於天下萬國、俾遭禍害、在我驅至之處、受凌辱、爲話柄、被訕笑、服呪詛、 | And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them. |
| 10 | 亦必加以鋒刃、饑饉疫癘、迨其滅於我所錫彼、及其列祖之地、 | And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers. |
