1 先知以利沙召先知徒一人、命之曰、束爾腰、執膏一甁、往基列拉末、 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth–gilead:
2 旣至、尋寧示孫、約沙法子耶戶、使之起而離其昆弟、攜入內室、 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
3 以膏甁傾於其首曰、耶和華云、我膏爾爲以色列王、卽啟門而遁、勿延、 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
4 先知少者遂往基列拉末、 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth–gilead.
5 旣至、見諸軍長皆坐、曰、軍長歟、我有言告汝、耶戶曰、我中何人、曰、軍長歟、卽爾也、 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6 耶戶起而入室、少者傾膏於其首、謂之曰、以色列之上帝耶和華云、我膏爾爲耶和華民以色列之王、 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel.
7 爾必擊爾主亞哈家、俾我於耶洗別之身、報我僕衆先知、及耶和華諸僕之血仇、 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel.
8 亞哈全家必滅、亞哈丁男、無論被束者、自由者、悉絕之於以色列中、 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
9 我必使亞哈家、如尼八子耶羅波安、及亞希雅子巴沙之家然、 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
10 耶洗別必在耶斯列田、爲犬所噬、無人葬之、言竟、啟門而遁、 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
11 耶戶出、至其主之諸臣、其一問曰、安乎、此顚狂者詣爾何事、曰、爾識其人、亦知其言、 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.
12 曰、此誑言也、爾其告我、曰、彼如此謂我曰、耶和華云、我膏爾爲以色列王、 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13 衆急以其衣置於階之上級、使耶戶坐其上、吹角曰、耶戶爲王矣、 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.
14 於是寧示孫、約沙法子耶戶叛約蘭、初、約蘭與以色列衆禦亞蘭王哈薛、戍守基列拉末、 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth–gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.
15 約蘭王返耶斯列、醫其與亞蘭王哈薛戰時、所受之傷、耶戶告衆曰、若愜爾意、則勿容人出邑、往報於耶斯列、 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.
16 耶戶乃乘車往耶斯列、因約蘭臥病於彼、猶大王亞哈謝來視之、 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.
17 守望者立於耶斯列臺、見耶戶之軍將至、曰、我見一軍、約蘭曰、遣騎兵往迎之、問曰、安否、 And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?
18 騎兵遂往迎之、曰、王云安否、耶戶曰、安否與爾何與、其轉而隨我後、守望者告曰、使者至彼而不返、 So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.
19 又遣騎兵、旣至、曰、王云安否、耶戶曰、安否與爾何與、其轉而隨我後、 Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.
20 守望者又告曰、使者至彼而不返、來者御車之勢、有若寧示孫耶戶、蓋其御猛甚也、 And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.
21 約蘭曰、駕、遂備車、以色列王約蘭、猶大王亞哈謝、各乘其車、往迎耶戶、遇於耶斯列人拿伯之田、 And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 約蘭見耶戶、則曰、耶戶歟、安否、曰、爾母耶洗別、淫行巫術若是之多、焉得安乎、 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
23 約蘭旋轅而遁、謂亞哈謝曰、亞哈謝歟、是叛也、 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.
24 耶戶極力彎弓、射中約蘭兩臂之間、矢穿其心而出、遂仆於車、 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
25 耶戶謂其軍長畢甲曰、取而投於耶斯列人拿伯之田、爾其追思、爾我同乘、隨其父亞哈時、耶和華預言之、 Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the Lord laid this burden upon him;
26 曰、昨日我見拿伯及其諸子之血、必於是田報之、今投之於此田、循耶和華所言、 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the Lord.
27 猶大王亞哈謝見此、遂由園亭之道而遁、耶戶追之、曰、擊之於車中、至近以伯蓮之姑珥阪、擊之、乃遁至米吉多而死、 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.
28 其臣載之於車、至耶路撒冷、葬於其墓、偕其列祖、在大衞城、○ And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29 亞哈謝卽位、爲猶大王時、乃在亞哈子約蘭之十一年、○ And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
30 耶戶旣至耶斯列、耶洗別聞之、畫眉飾首、自牖而觀、 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
31 耶戶入門、耶洗別曰、弒主之心利歟、安乎、 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
32 耶戶仰視其牖曰、爲我者誰乎、有二三宦者自牖觀之、 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
33 耶戶曰、擲之下、遂擲之、血濺於壁及馬、耶戶以足踐之、 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
34 耶戶入而飲食、旣而命曰、收此服詛之婦葬之、以其爲王女也、 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter.
35 遂往葬之、僅得其頭顱、與足及手掌而已、 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 反告耶戶、耶戶曰、此乃耶和華藉其僕、提斯比人以利亞所言曰、耶洗別之肉、必在耶斯列田、爲犬所噬、 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
37 其屍必在耶斯列田、如田間之糞壤、致人不得曰、此乃耶洗別也、 And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.
