| 2 | 約蘭王女、亞哈謝妹約示巴於見殺之王子中、竊亞哈謝子約阿施出、與其乳媼、藏於寢室、以避亞他利雅、免其被殺、 | But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain. |
| 3 | 約阿施與其乳媼、偕匿於耶和華室、歷有六年、亞他利雅治理斯土、○ | And he was with her hid in the house of the Lord six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land. |
| 4 | 越至七年、耶何耶大遣人召迦利族與衞士之百夫長、導入耶和華室、與之立約、使在耶和華室發誓、以王子示之、 | And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the Lord, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the Lord, and shewed them the king’s son. |
| 5 | 命之曰、爾當如是而行、凡安息日入值者、三分之一宜守王宮、 | And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king’s house; |
| 6 | 三分之一守蘇珥門、三分之一守衞士後之門、如是守護王宮、以爲防禦、 | And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down. |
| 7 | 安息日退值之二隊、必守護耶和華室、在王四周、 | And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the Lord about the king. |
| 8 | 各執器械以環之、凡侵爾班列者、必殺之、王出入時、爾必與偕、 | And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in. |
| 9 | 百夫長咸遵祭司耶何耶大之命而行、各率其人、安息日入值退值者、俱詣祭司耶何耶大、 | And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest. |

| 11 | 衞士手執器械、立於王之四周、自室右至室左、環壇與室、 | And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple. |
| 12 | 祭司導王子出、加冕於其首、予以法律、膏之爲王、衆鼓掌曰、願王萬歲、 | And he brought forth the king’s son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king. |
| 13 | 亞他利雅聞衞士與民之聲、則入耶和華室、至於民所、 | And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the Lord. |
| 14 | 望見王循常例立於柱側、百夫長與吹角者侍於王側、四境之民懽忻吹角、亞他利雅裂衣、呼曰、叛矣、叛矣、 | And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason. |
| 15 | 祭司耶何耶大命統軍之百夫長曰、由隊伍之間擁之出、隨其後者、必殺以刃、蓋祭司曰、勿殺之於耶和華室、 | But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the Lord. |
| 16 | 遂辟易而出之、婦由馬道至王宮、見殺於彼、○ | And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king’s house: and there was she slain. |
| 17 | 耶何耶大使王及民、與耶和華立約、俾爲耶和華之民、又使王與民立約、 | And Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people, that they should be the Lord’s people; between the king also and the people. |
| 18 | 四境之民、往巴力廟毀之、摧其壇、碎其像、殺巴力之祭司瑪坦於壇前、祭司設官守耶和華室、 | And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord. |
| 19 | 率諸百夫長、曁迦利族與衞士、以及四境之民、自耶和華室、導王而下、由衞士門、入於王宮、遂卽王位、 | And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings. |
| 20 | 四境之民歡樂、邑內平康、亞他利雅見殺於王宮、約阿施卽位時、年甫七齡、 | And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house. |
