1 瑪拿西卽位時、年十有二、在耶路撒冷爲王、歷五十五年、 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2 行耶和華所惡、從異邦可憎之事、卽耶和華於以色列人前、所逐諸族之事、 But did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3 復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、爲巴力建壇、作木偶、崇拜天象、而奉事之、 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4 在耶和華室築壇、昔耶和華指此室而言曰、我名必永在耶路撒冷、 Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, whereof the Lord had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5 又在耶和華室二院中、爲天象築壇、 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
6 並在欣嫩子谷、使其子女經火、又行卜筮、用法術、行邪術、與憑鬼者及巫覡交、多行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
7 又置所造雕像於上帝室、昔上帝諭大衞、及其子所羅門曰、此室及耶路撒冷、乃我於以色列支派中所簡者、必永寄我名於其中、 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8 如以色列人遵行我藉摩西、所傳之法度、典章律例、則我不復移其足、離我所錫厥祖之地、 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9 瑪拿西誘猶大及耶路撒冷居民、致其行惡、較耶和華於以色列人前、所滅之族尤甚、 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10 耶和華諭瑪拿西與其民、惟彼不聽、 And the Lord spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11 故耶和華使亞述王之軍長來攻之、執瑪拿西、繫之以鏈、以鈎鈎之、攜至巴比倫、 Wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12 旣遭患難、則求其上帝耶和華、在其列祖之上帝前、自卑維甚、 And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13 禱耶和華、蒙其垂聽、而允所求、使返耶路撒冷、復其國位、瑪拿西始知耶和華爲上帝、○ And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord he was God.
14 嗣後、瑪拿西在大衞城谷中、基訓溪西、建築外垣、沿至魚門、周俄斐勒、建垣甚高、又於猶大之堅城置軍長、 Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15 去除異邦之神、與耶和華室中之像、倂在耶和華室之山、及耶路撒冷所建諸壇、悉擲於城外、 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16 重建耶和華之壇、獻酬恩祭與感謝祭於上、命猶大人奉事以色列之上帝耶和華、 And he repaired the altar of the Lord, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.
17 惟民仍獻祭於崇邱、而獨奉其上帝耶和華、 Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the Lord their God only.
18 瑪拿西其餘事蹟、及禱其上帝之言、與先見奉以色列之上帝耶和華名、所諭之言、俱載於以色列列王紀、 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the Lord God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19 其祈禱與蒙允、及其罪過、並未自卑以前、築崇邱、立木偶、設雕像之處、俱載於何賽之書、 His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20 瑪拿西與列祖偕眠、葬於己宮、子亞們嗣位、○ So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21 亞們卽位時、年二十有二、在耶路撒冷爲王、凡歷二年、 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 行耶和華所惡、效其父瑪拿西所爲、祭其父瑪拿西所造雕像、而奉事之、 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23 不效其父瑪拿西自卑於耶和華前、干罪愈甚、 And humbled not himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24 其臣僕叛、弒之於宮、 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25 國民殺叛亞們王者、立其子約西亞、繼之爲王、 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
