1 約沙法富有貨財、大得尊榮、與亞哈聯姻、 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.
2 越數年、往撒瑪利亞見亞哈、亞哈爲彼與從者、宰牛羊甚多、聳其同往基列拉末、 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramoth–gilead.
3 以色列王亞哈謂猶大王約沙法曰、爾願與我偕往基列拉末乎、曰、爾我無異、我民如爾民、必偕爾以戰、 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth–gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
4 約沙法謂以色列王曰、請先諮諏耶和華、 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the Lord to day.
5 以色列王乃集先知四百人、謂之曰、我往基列拉末以戰、可否、曰、往哉、上帝必付之於王手、 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth–gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.
6 約沙法曰、在此、非尚有耶和華之先知、可詢之乎、 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord besides, that we might enquire of him?
7 以色列王曰、尚有一人、音拉子米該雅、可藉之詻諏耶和華、然我憾之、因其論我之預言、有凶而無吉、約沙法曰、王勿言是、 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the Lord: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
8 以色列王召一宦者、曰、速令音拉子米該雅至、 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Fetch quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.
9 以色列王與猶大王約沙法、各衣朝服、坐於位、在撒瑪利亞邑門之場、衆先知預言於其前、 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat either of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in a void place at the entering in of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
10 基拿拿子西底家曾製鐵角、曰、耶和華云、爾必以此角觸亞蘭人、至於盡滅、 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria until they be consumed.
11 衆先知亦如是預言曰、可往基列拉末、而得利達、耶和華將付之於王手、 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth–gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
12 往召米該雅之使謂之曰、諸先知衆口一辭、以吉語告王、請爾與彼同辭、告以吉語、 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.
13 米該雅曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、我上帝所諭者、我必言之、 And Micaiah said, As the Lord liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.
14 旣至王前、王曰、米該雅、我儕往基列拉末以戰、可否、曰、可往、而得利達、敵必被付於爾手、 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth–gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.
15 王曰、我須幾次囑爾、奉耶和華名與我言、惟以誠實乎、 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the Lord?
16 曰、我觀以色列衆散布於山、猶羊無牧、耶和華云、斯衆無主、可各安歸其家、 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the Lord said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.
17 以色列王謂約沙法曰、我豈不云、彼論我之預言、有凶無吉乎、 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil?
18 米該雅曰、其聽耶和華之言、我見耶和華坐於其位、天上萬軍咸侍左右、 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19 耶和華曰、誰願誘以色列王亞哈、往基列拉末而隕沒乎、其一曰如此、其一曰如彼、 And the Lord said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth–gilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.
20 後有神出、立於耶和華前曰、我願誘之、曰、何以誘之、 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will entice him. And the Lord said unto him, Wherewith?
21 曰、我將出爲誑言之神、在其衆先知之口、曰、爾往爲之、必成其事、 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.
22 今耶和華以誑言之神、置爾衆先知之口、耶和華有言、將加禍於爾、 Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil against thee.
23 基拿拿子西底家、前批米該雅之頰、曰、耶和華之神自我往與爾言、由於何途、 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?
24 曰、爾匿密室之日、則必見之、 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
25 以色列王曰、執米該雅、歸付邑宰亞們、及王子約阿施、 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
26 告之曰、王命拘此夫於獄、食以艱苦之餅、飲以艱苦之水、待我安歸、 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.
27 米該雅曰、如爾安歸、則是耶和華未藉我而言、又曰、諸民、爾其聽之、○ And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.
28 以色列王與猶大王約沙法、往基列拉末、 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth–gilead.
29 以色列王謂約沙法曰、我將改裝入陳、惟爾當衣王服、以色列王遂改裝、二人入陳、 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.
30 亞蘭王曾命車長曰、尊卑俱勿與戰、惟與以色列王而已、 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 車長見約沙法、則曰、此乃以色列王也、遂轉戰之、約沙法號呼、耶和華上帝助之、使敵去之、 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the Lord helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32 車長見非以色列王、則返而不追、 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
33 有人偶爾挽弓、射中以色列王甲縫、王謂御者曰、我重傷矣、旋車載我出軍、 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
34 是日戰勢劇烈、以色列王強立於軍、以禦亞蘭人、至於日夕、日入時乃卒、 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
