| 1 | 亞撒子約沙法嗣位、自強、以禦以色列族、 | And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel. |
| 2 | 駐兵於猶大之堅城、置戍於猶大地、及其父亞撒所得以法蓮之邑、 | And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken. |
| 3 | 耶和華偕之、緣循厥祖大衞始初之道、不求巴力、 | And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; |
| 4 | 惟求其父之上帝、遵其誡命、不效以色列人所行、 | But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel. |
| 5 | 緣此、耶和華鞏固其國、猶大人咸進貢、富有貨財、大得尊榮、 | Therefore the Lord stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance. |
| 6 | 奮志行耶和華之道、且除猶大之崇邱與木偶、 | And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the Lord: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah. |
| 7 | 在位三年、遣其牧伯便亥伊勒、俄巴底、撒迦利雅、拿坦業、米該亞、往猶大諸邑訓民、 | Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Ben–hail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah. |
| 8 | 並遣利未人示瑪雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亞撒黑、示米拉末、約拿單、亞多尼雅、多比雅、駝巴多尼雅、又有祭司以利沙瑪、約蘭偕之、 | And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob–adonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests. |
| 9 | 衆乃攜耶和華律書、巡行猶大諸邑訓民、 | And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the Lord with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. |
| 10 | 耶和華使猶大四周之國畏懼、不與約沙法戰、 | And the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat. |
| 11 | 非利士人有獻物貢銀於約沙法、亞拉伯人獻牡綿羊七千七百、牡山羊七千七百、 | Also some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and tribute silver; and the Arabians brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he goats. |
| 12 | 約沙法日漸強大、在猶大建保障、及府庫之邑、 | And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles, and cities of store. |
| 13 | 在猶大各城多有工作、在耶路撒冷有英武之士、 | And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valour, were in Jerusalem. |
| 14 | 循其宗族、其數如左、猶大之千夫長、押拿爲首、率勇士三十萬、 | And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand. |
| 15 | 其次、軍長約哈難、率二十八萬、 | And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand. |
| 16 | 其次、細基利子亞瑪斯雅、樂獻己於耶和華、率勇士二十萬、 | And next him was Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the Lord; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour. |
| 17 | 便雅憫有勇士以利雅大、率執弓持干者二十萬、 | And of Benjamin; Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him armed men with bow and shield two hundred thousand. |
| 18 | 其次、約薩拔、率備戰者十八萬、 | And next him was Jehozabad, and with him an hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for the war. |
| 19 | 斯衆皆役事於王、此外、王又置人於猶大之堅城、 | These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah. |
