| 1 | 耶羅波安王十八年、亞比雅卽位、爲猶大王、 | Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah. |
| 2 | 在耶路撒冷爲王三年、其母名米該亞、基比亞人烏列女也、亞比雅與耶羅波安戰、 | He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam. |
| 3 | 亞比雅率所簡英勇之戰士四十萬、耶羅波安率所簡壯健之勇士八十萬、列陳逆之、 | And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour. |
| 4 | 亞比雅立於以法蓮山地之洗瑪臉岡、曰、耶羅波安及以色列衆、其聽我言、 | And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel; |
| 5 | 以色列之上帝耶和華曾立鹽約、以以色列國永賜大衞、及其子孫、爾豈不知乎、 | Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt? |
| 6 | 乃大衞子所羅門之僕、尼八子耶羅波安、起而叛其主、 | Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord. |
| 7 | 無賴之匪徒糾集從之、恃強以攻所羅門子羅波安、時羅波安冲弱、不能禦之、 | And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them. |
| 8 | 今爾有意敵大衞子孫所治耶和華之國、爾之人數甚多、且有耶羅波安爲爾所製金犢、以爲神者偕爾、 | And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods. |
| 9 | 爾曹非逐耶和華之祭司、亞倫後裔、及利未人、爲己立祭司、循異邦之例乎、凡人攜牡犢一、牡羊七而來、自爲區別、則可爲祭司、以奉虛無之神、 | Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods. |
| 10 | 至於我儕、耶和華爲我上帝、我未棄之、亦有奉事耶和華之祭司、亞倫子孫、及利未人、供其役事、 | But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business: |
| 11 | 每朝夕獻燔祭芳品、奉於耶和華、列陳設餅於精金之几、有金燈臺與盞、每夕燃之、蓋我儕守我上帝耶和華之命、惟爾曹棄之、 | And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him. |
| 12 | 上帝偕我、爲我首領、其祭司吹角、向爾發聲示警、以色列人歟、勿與爾列祖之上帝耶和華戰、蓋爾必不利達也、 | And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper. |
| 13 | 耶羅波安設伏於猶大人後、於是以色列人在前、伏兵在後、 | But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them. |
| 14 | 猶大人回顧、見其前後列陳、則籲耶和華、祭司吹角、 | And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. |
| 15 | 猶大人號呼、是時上帝擊耶羅波安及以色列衆、於亞比雅曁猶大人前、 | Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. |
| 16 | 以色列人遁、上帝付之猶大人手、 | And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand. |
| 17 | 亞比雅與其民大行殺戮、以色列之選兵、隕沒者五十萬、 | And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. |
| 18 | 是時以色列人降服、猶大人獲勝、因賴其列祖之上帝耶和華也、 | Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers. |
| 19 | 亞比雅追襲耶羅波安、奪取數邑、卽伯特利與其鄉里、耶沙拿與其鄉里、以法拉音與其鄉里、 | And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth–el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof. |
| 20 | 亞比雅存日、耶羅波安不復振興、耶和華擊之而死、 | Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the Lord struck him, and he died. |
| 21 | 惟亞比雅日強、娶后妃十四、生子二十二、女十六、 | But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters. |
| 22 | 亞比雅其餘事蹟、及其言行、皆載於先知易多傳、 | And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo. |
