| 2 | 羅波安王五年、埃及王示撒來攻耶路撒冷、因其獲罪於耶和華也、 | And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord, |
| 3 | 示撒率車千二百乘、騎兵六萬、自埃及所從之衆、路比人、蘇基人、古實人、不可勝數、 | With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians. |

| 5 | 猶大牧伯、緣示撒故、集於耶路撒冷、先知示瑪雅、來見羅波安與牧伯曰、耶和華云、爾曹棄我、故我遺爾於示撒手、 | Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. |

| 7 | 耶和華見其自卑、則諭示瑪雅曰、彼旣自卑、我不滅之、必稍施拯救、不藉示撒手、洩我怒於耶路撒冷、 | And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. |
| 8 | 惟彼衆必爲示撒僕、使知服我之役、與服列邦之役孰愈、 | Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries. |
| 9 | 於是埃及王示撒來攻耶路撒冷、奪耶和華室及王宮之寶物、悉攜之去、亦奪所羅門所製之金干、 | So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made. |
| 10 | 羅波安王作銅干代之、付於守宮門之侍衞長、 | Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house. |
| 11 | 王入耶和華室時、侍衞至而執干、後則反諸侍衞之室、 | And when the king entered into the house of the Lord, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber. |
| 12 | 因王自卑、耶和華之怒遂息、不加殄滅、且在猶大中、尚有善事存焉、 | And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well. |
| 13 | 羅波安王自強、爲王於耶路撒冷、其卽位時、年四十有一、在耶路撒冷、卽耶和華於以色列諸支派中、所簡寄名之邑、爲王歷十七年、其母名拿瑪、亞捫人也、 | So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. |

| 15 | 羅波安事蹟之始末、載於先知示瑪雅、與先見易多之史記、羅波安與耶羅波安、常相戰鬬、 | Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. |
| 16 | 羅波安與其列祖偕眠、葬於大衞城、子亞比雅嗣位、 | And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead. |
