| 2 | 謂以色列會衆曰、爾曹若以爲善、此事由於我上帝耶和華、則可遣人往以色列全地、請我儕其餘之昆弟、及居邑郊之祭司利未人、使之咸集於此、 | And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the Lord our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us: |
| 3 | 我儕舁上帝匱而至、蓋掃羅時、我儕未嘗諮諏於匱、 | And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul. |
| 4 | 會衆曰、我必如是而行、民衆咸視斯事爲善也、 | And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people. |
| 5 | 於是大衞集以色列人、自埃及之西曷溪、至哈馬界、欲自基列耶琳、舁上帝匱至、 | So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath–jearim. |
| 6 | 大衞率以色列衆至巴拉、卽屬猶大之基列耶琳、欲舁耶和華上帝之匱、此匱乃以居基路伯上、耶和華之名而名者、 | And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath–jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it. |
| 7 | 遂舁上帝匱、自亞比拿達室而出、載於斯車、烏撒與亞希約御之、 | And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. |
| 8 | 大衞及以色列衆、在上帝前、極力舞蹈、謳歌、以琴瑟鑼鼓與角作樂、 | And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. |
| 9 | 至基頓禾場、牛蹶、烏撒伸手扶匱、 | And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. |
| 10 | 耶和華怒烏撒、因其伸手扶匱而擊之、遂死於上帝前、 | And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. |
| 11 | 耶和華擊烏撒、大衞不悅、稱其地曰毘列斯烏撒、至於今日、 | And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez–uzza to this day. |
| 12 | 是日大衞畏上帝曰、上帝之匱、何可至我所、 | And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? |
| 13 | 於是大衞不舁匱入大衞城、至於己所、乃轉舁至迦特人俄別以東室、 | So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed–edom the Gittite. |
| 14 | 上帝匱在俄別以東室三月、耶和華錫嘏於俄別以東家、及其所有、 | And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed–edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that he had. |
