1 大衞避基士子掃羅、匿於洗革拉時、有勇士歸之、助其戰鬬、 Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish: and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war.
2 皆執弓爲械、發石射矢、左右手俱能之、乃掃羅之昆弟、便雅憫人也、 They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.
3 其魁亞希以謝、次基比亞人示瑪子約阿施、及亞斯瑪威子耶薛、毘力、與比拉迦、亞拿突人耶戶、 The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel, and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; and Berachah, and Jehu the Antothite,
4 基遍人以實買雅、勇冠三十人、爲之長、又有耶利米、雅哈悉、約哈難、基得拉人約撒拔、 And Ismaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty; and Jeremiah, and Jahaziel, and Johanan, and Josabad the Gederathite,
5 伊利烏賽、耶利摩、比亞利雅、示瑪利雅、哈律弗人示法提雅、 Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Haruphite,
6 可拉族以利加拿、耶西雅、亞薩列、約以謝、押朔班、 Elkanah, and Jesiah, and Azareel, and Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korhites,
7 基多人耶羅罕子猶拉、西巴第雅、 And Joelah, and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
8 迦得族亦有人歸大衞、至曠野之保障、俱爲勇士、嫻習戰事、能執干戈、其貌如獅、足捷如山中之鹿、 And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains;
9 其魁以薛、次俄巴底雅、三以利押、 Ezer the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
10 四彌施瑪拿、五耶利米、 Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
11 六亞太、七以利業、 Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
12 八約哈難、九以利薩巴、 Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13 十耶利米、十一末巴奈、 Jeremiah the tenth, Machbanai the eleventh.
14 此皆迦得人、俱爲軍長、小者當百人、大者當千人、 These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.
15 正月約但漲溢、斯衆濟河、使居谷中之民逃遁、東西皆然、 These are they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.
16 有便雅憫人、猶大人、至保障歸大衞、 And there came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the hold unto David.
17 大衞出迓曰、爾若平和而來以助我、則我心與爾相契、我旣無辜、爾若鬻我於敵、願我列祖之上帝鑒察之、譴責之、 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
18 三十首領之魁亞瑪撒、感於神曰、大衞歟、我儕屬爾、耶西子歟、我儕從爾、願爾平康、願助爾者平康、蓋爾上帝助爾也、大衞納之、立爲軍長、 Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
19 大衞偕非利士人、往戰掃羅時、有瑪拿西人歸之、惟未助非利士人、因非利士牧伯相議、遣之去曰、彼必歸降其主掃羅、危及我首、 And there fell some of Manasseh to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.
20 大衞往洗革拉時、瑪拿西人押拿、約撒拔、耶疊、米迦勒、約撒拔、以利戶、洗勒太、咸歸之、皆瑪拿西之千夫長也、 As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zilthai, captains of the thousands that were of Manasseh.
21 斯衆助大衞攻羣寇、皆爲勇士、亦爲軍長、 And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour, and were captains in the host.
22 來助大衞者、日有其人、致成大軍、如上帝之軍、○ For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.
23 備戰之士至希伯崙見大衞、欲以掃羅國位歸之、循耶和華言、其數如左、 And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.
24 猶大族、執干戈而備戰者、六千八百人、 The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, ready armed to the war.
25 西緬族、備戰之勇士七千一百人、 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
26 利未族、四千六百人、 Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
27 亞倫家長耶何耶大、與從者三千七百人、 And Jehoiada was the leader of the Aaronites, and with him were three thousand and seven hundred;
28 少年勇士撒督、及族長二十二人、 And Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father’s house twenty and two captains.
29 便雅憫族、掃羅之昆弟三千人、其族強半仍從掃羅家、 And of the children of Benjamin, the kindred of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept the ward of the house of Saul.
30 以法蓮族之勇士、族中著名者、二萬有八百人、 And of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous throughout the house of their fathers.
31 瑪拿西半支派、名錄於册、來立大衞爲王者、一萬八千人、 And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, which were expressed by name, to come and make David king.
32 以薩迦族、達於時務、知以色列人所當行者、族長二百、同宗之昆弟、咸聽厥命、 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
33 西布倫族、能從軍列陳、執諸戰具、整肅行伍、不生二心者、五萬人、 Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.
34 拿弗他利族、軍長一千、從之執干戈者、三萬七千人、 And of Naphtali a thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty and seven thousand.
35 但之族、能列陳者、二萬八千六百人、 And of the Danites expert in war twenty and eight thousand and six hundred.
36 亞設族、能從軍列陳者、四萬人、 And of Asher, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, forty thousand.
37 約但東、流便族、迦得族、瑪拿西半支派、持諸軍器備戰者、十二萬人、 And on the other side of Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, an hundred and twenty thousand.
38 以上所載、皆係戰士、能列行伍、誠心至希伯崙、欲立大衞爲以色列全族之王、其餘以色列民、亦懷一心、立之爲王、 All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
39 衆與大衞偕居三日、式飲式食、蓋其昆弟爲之備具也、 And there they were with David three days, eating and drinking: for their brethren had prepared for them.
40 附近之人、及以薩迦、西布倫、拿弗他利之人、以驢駝騾牛載餱糧、無花果餅、葡萄乾、與酒油、並攜牛羊甚多而至、因以色列人欣喜故也、 Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
